Drafting is really fun and even though Shandalar is 10 years ago, it is still very amazing. I hate to plug my own program but MTG Forge also lets you draft and you can edit the card set that is drafted. The reason I wrote MTG Forge is because Shandalar was so amazing and fun. I enjoyed playing an affinity deck because you guys have added so many good cards.

@mtgrares:
I'll keep playing both versions, yours is really great, and it has tons of cards (I didn't know the vast majority of them) but I admit I sort of need a more refined interface, like manalink provides.
Hell guys, you're all doing such a great work, I almost feel the need to plunge myself back into programming and try to help somehow!
Joined efforts should be the way to go...

@all:
Please I really need help here :(
I've downloaded the drafting 2.0 module, and...
I assumed I had to unzip the files in the main directory, and that's fine...
But then everything screwed up, and now I seem to miss A LOT of card images.
The dueling screen also behaves erratically.
So I figure, I'll just download the updated card images file, but, well, here things get REALLY confusing!
The links on the WIKI don't work, and there are two of them..
So one would try the one in the Graphic thread, but then I noticed there was another, dated 24 May, in another thread... :?:
(I'm not complaining, mind you, but a bit of pruning/reordering/explaining WOULD help helpless noobies like me :D )
Anyway, I downloaded the last one, and unzipped its contents in the CardArt folder.
Still, the problems persisted.
What did I do wrong?

Any help appreciated!

EDIT: ok guys, sorry, I got it now :)
(I mean, it's installed correctly now, let's see if I can work out the rest :mrgreen: )

hey there people..

Let me start by thanking all the people contributed in this. I stumbled here just yesterday and was amazed to see all the activity going on for the beloved but forgotten MTG.

So as you'd figure out I do have lots of noobish questions but will try to prioritize them not to bore you to death :)

What I was especially excited about was the chance to draft. I think I did everything right up until starting to play with the drafted deck (necessary updates installed, drafted, edited the deck & saved) but when I try to actually start playing with the deck I drafted & edited (namely "Draft - Human (0).dck"), unlike the draft opponent decks, it is not to be seen in the droplist. I am positive that the .dck file is located in the playdecks folder and I've tried to change its name, examine its content with wordpad without any joy :shock: weirdly I can still load the deck in deck builder..

any advise would be appreciated..
thnx in advance :)

please post the deck list. It's possible it includes some illegal card(s).

Quirion Ranger is your problem. Right now there are a bunch of cards that are in the database, but not coded, so if you draft the Post Mok or All sets, you will have this problem.
