Call me old fashioned but...

Postby korynael » 22 Feb 2011, 20:25

Now dont think I know anything, becuase I dont... but after the basic installation process and the basic manalink 201 upgrade, are there any more PATCHES that can be installed which do NOT replace the cards I already have?

I see all the patches over the last year or so and I'm sure they are GREAT, but they REPLACE existing cards (weaker cards go away to make room for newer and greater cards), but are there any patches that just ADD new cards?

No, that's not possible because there is a 2000 card limit in manalink that can't be surpassed. You can always try and install the custom version but that doesn't always work.

What is the "Custom Version"? and if I wanted to try it, where could I find it? Also, if card substitution is the only safe way, is there a way to look at what is available and choose individual cards that i may want to add and also is there a way to identify in the directory structure of the game, the card I want to substitute out? so I can for example replace these cards on a 1 to 1 basis?

Look through the installing section, there are instructions there, after that you can build decks with the deck editor and add all the decks you want to the custom version.

Moved to "ManaLink 2.0"

The Patch section is for Patches ONLY.

That is the point of a patch. We replace old and boring vanilla Cards like Scathe Zombies with cool new ones like Cemetery Reaper.

But we do not replace Cards without a reason.
The Cardpool currently got a hardcoded 2000 Card limit, so there can only be 2000 Cards total at all times. This leads to old cards being replaced with superior ones.
If you prefer your Scathe Zombies then just don´t patch and ask nicely on the forum to "get it back".
Also the Limited and Custom Version are BOTH results of the 2000 Card limit and would not be necessary at all if that limit would not exist. We are heavily working on the issue for quite some time now, but as you can imagine it is not an easy thing to bend that limit at our will.

Sooner or later there will be a way to either turn off that limitation or bend it - in the meantime please be happy that we provide things like the Limited and Custom version just to keep YOU pleased.
Retired a long time ago. I will not reply.
