slowliness

Hi,
when I happen to have many cards in the battlefield, the rules engine gets extremely slow (almost thirty seconds just to show a card in the battlefield after spending its cost).
is it working fine, by chance? As far as I can remember, oldest patches ( more than one year ago) worked faster.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Marco

The more the patches go on, the more material are added into the game and more complex mechanism in play there is (storm, special card effect, mob count...) so it is inevitable that the game is slowing as all of these cards are put at once in the battlefield (remember that the game is originally for dos and had many memory holes).
A partial fix you can do is to remove manually or disable the Card Engine if you are not using special card that require it.
As Garg intend to add another Rule Engine card with the new Phyrexia cycle on the way, it will be recommended to use a big computer if you want to play everything at once

Stassy, what are you wrinting is incorrect. Please read the relese notes before spreading bad news.
If you check the latest update, viewtopic.php?f=85&t=4328
you'll see that from now on the Rules Engine will be generated only if one or both the deck you're playing with requires it.
And if it's generated, it will run only the needed functions, not all as before.
And the same thing will obviously go with Deadbox (what will be the point of re-making the same errors ?).
More specifically, the cards that caused more slowdowns are the ones that continualy checks the battlefiled and / or the graveyard. So, if you're playing deck with Vengevines and such, or cards with Cycling or card with Flashback, expect slowdowns.
