Constructed: even better but I really don't get some things.

'morning :) In this lazy summer day, I've decided to take a look to Magic, the Gatherer to see if I could replace some obsolete cards in my Constructed version with their evolution. Nothing seriously competitive, of course! But I was surprised to see how many of them I've found.
Of course, I can't code any complicated card but I've found a bunch that I could reach and so I've swapped some cards :)

Seton's Scout > Nessian Courser
Deadly Recluse > Canopy Spider
Gloomwidow > Giant Spider
Aven Fisher / Azure Drake > Darkslick Drake
Yavimaya Dryad > Shanodin Dryads
Zodiac Monkey > Barbary Apes

Now, I've also seen that you are really doing a great job with Constructed version, because each time it is getting filled with much more competitive cards, even if sometimes I really don't understand why you have removed some cute-but-obsolete cards, leaving instead the same Canopy Spider, Roc of Kher Ridges, Ancients' Arena or Phyrexian Devourer :P
Also, there are some some very good cards in Limited edition that aren't in Constructed, as Vines of Vastwood or Captivating Vampire.

Well, all I wanted was to share thouse thoughts. C u!

You're forgetting the "Programmer's Delight" challenge : almost all the "vanilla" creatures left in Costructed are there for the sole purpose of being able to unlock that challenge.
But, in fact, we're in dire needs of available slots, so I'll probably have to modify or either remove that challenge. If you're reading, Jatill, I'll like to have your own opinion.
As for Phyrexian Devourer, there's a neat Legacy combo-deck involving Necrotic Ooze, the Devourer and Triskelion.
And you'll probably like Arena of the Ancients a lot if you play the "Pit Fighting" Challenge.

- Current / medium term task: adjusting the code for making Misdirection and such usable
- Long term task: inserting all the good stuff I left out from the "Golden Years" mod

Well, I bet there is a good answer for everything :)
Now, there are 2 matters: with over 2K cards, it is quite difficult for grannies like me to catch all available combos :) So, some cards that are junk, in verity may have a second, less immediate purpose that makes them valuable but still not versatile at all.
Secondly, it is not a secret that I strongly dislike challenges, even if I show respect for the ones that do. So, cards as Arena of the Ancients for me are still junk, no matter what, and I would prefer to see those slots implemented in a much better way.
I wonder if we'll ever be able to break the 2K limits and merge all versions in one.

No choice either : ask god google :p
It's the opposite for me, delving into combo of old timers for GY which seems quite difficult since some major cards are still missing...
