Here's attached guide how to duplcate free-playing hybrid spells, and mentioned modular related bug.
Reap and Saw + Strip mine bug
When playing Entwine, computer responsed with sacrificing Strip mine, however none of my lands became destroyed, it just countered my search-land action. Second part of Reap and Saw resolved normally (destruction of one computer's basic lands).
--- edit ---
I've reached attachment size limit here, modular bug will be next time, sorry!

I had many crashes/game exits upon casting brainstorm.
I have the game on two computers and that bug occurs on both

Now that I know how to properly target cards in hand, I think I'll rewrite brainstorm and put this issue to bed.mathusalem wrote:I had many crashes/game exits upon casting brainstorm.

Ivory guardian is inactive: the card has totally been changed and should work more or less as plague rats. Instead, now it still seeks for a creature ID (guardian) that has been used elsewere.

Wild Aesthir has "lost" the activation ability trigger. Please, check in the exe that the bit for "active when white mana is available" are set in the right way, and not for red mana. Anyway, it is very strange because I was sure that I did fix it...
Martial coup does nothing if the AI responds with a fast effect (in my case, it was pumping order of leitbur)

Pattern of rebirth seems to trigger multiples times only when enchanted creature is blocked and killed during attack phase (spells burying the enchanted creature seems to trigger it correctly only once)

Ability of Academy Rector sends a land to the graveyard when it is activated.
Hand count not being properly updated when discarding a land card for Mox Diamond? I did this, reducing my hand to 7 cards but Library of Alexandria had its draw a card option greyed out. Despite having only 7 cards I was also forced to discard a card at end of turn.

Interesting bug. I fixed it for Mox Diamond, but let me know if you notice this for other cards, too.Wally wrote:Ability of Academy Rector sends a land to the graveyard when it is activated.

I've seen that Kjeldoran outpost provides both 1/1 soldier and mana when automatically tapped for mana.

An oddity :
As you may know I'm translating the card database into french. and to be up to date I just copy paste the new cards into my french CSV. but I copy paste everything else in a program folder. so actually only the CSV and Cards.dat are patched along the way so the .exe is really the lattest brew.
Now what happens is that Bitterblossom still shows in my french version of the Deckbuilder while, as I said, it was absent in the normal deckbuilder since Last update with the tribal addition.
I tried to tweak the english CSV to take out any hint at tribal (subtypes set to 0) butt that didn't work.
So my feeling is that this bug is in the CSV but I don'y see where.

Enchantments won't show in the deck builder unless their first subtype is 211. Their 2nd subtype can be anything.mathusalem wrote:An oddity :

I had this as well.0rion79 wrote:I've seen that Kjeldoran outpost provides both 1/1 soldier and mana when automatically tapped for mana.
Also something odd with Martial Coup, I cast it with X=5 and AI responded with Siren's Call. I didnt get my 5 tokens and the AI's creatures weren't destroyed. Looked like I was countered??

Hey everyone,
I've been looking at this post getting bigger and bigger. If I was a programmer and wanted to start working these bugs out I'd need a little more information. We should all post OS information, and on crashes maybe post sound card and/or video card information (which is the #1 cause of most crashes). Then Monopoman can organize them accordingly and we can see were bugs are related. Thank you Microsoft for Vista and Windows ME

In most cases, though, except Brainstorm, I think all of the bugs are mismatches between M:TG card rules and the code. I think only Brainstorm has actually crashed the game, and Mishra's Factory, if you count the AI spamming 'cancel' until you get so frustrated you quit. On another note, my brother runs this under Vista and has no problems. ME is just a joke, and it might be the cause of some machine-specific problems, but the stuff in this thread is, generally speaking, machine-independent.
