One question, about Manalink.csv?
by ozks » 28 Aug 2013, 19:24
to increase the number of lands, that the game takes, I should edit the manalink.csv in this path:
Program\magic_updater\Manalink.csv
or there's another one?
i'm tired of the card limit to 25.
thanks.

Are you referring to the different cardart used for Lands? I guess you are.If you don't want so many different artwork you have to change Manalink.csv from 25 to the number you want. And of course rename the card artwork you want to have to the first slots you will change Manalink.csv /Num pics value to.If you want more the value to change is that but I think it doesn't load more than 25.

I've looked for, but haven't been able to find, evidence of a maximum of 25 images either in the exe or in cardartlib. I haven't actually tried putting in a higher number myself.
On the other hand, the way it picks which image to display is based entirely on the card's id tag (the blue and orange numbers that appear when you turn on the "Show ID Tags" option), and those start at 0 for the first card in your hand and increment from there. The precise formula is (player_number + card_id_tag) mod (number_of_images). So there's a definite bias towards seeing low-numbered images, and you won't ever see your eightieth image unless you play with a deck that large.
On yet a third hand, it wouldn't be at all difficult to add in a third term with player_number and card_id_tag, chosen randomly at the start of each game. It wouldn't be saveable and loadable, though, so all the artwork would change whenever you loaded the game.
