Magic Utilities

Now that I'm "retired" I can spend more time actually playing the game. Of course, this makes me notice little things that annoy me and I want to fix, so I fix them. And I might as well share my changes, right? :)

A lot of these changes assume you have a Playdeck\holding directory, which contains all your decks. So if you don't, create it and copy your decks into there. Also, you may want to make a backup copy of your decks, just in case.

Here are the features included in this download:
http://www.savefile.com/files/1997761

Magic Draft.exe
Run a draft. No special deck required, just go into solo duel and begin. The draft will start automatically. Also, your playdeck folder will be cleared of all non-draft decks. (all decks that were there are copied to holding, for all these utilities. Nothing is just thrown away, unless that directory doesn't exist).

CleanupDraft.bat
When you are done drafting, delete all the draft decks.

MomirBasic.exe
Play a game of Momir Basic. No special deck required, just go into solo duel and begin. You and your opponent will be given random decks of basic land. Vanguard mulligan decisions will be skipped.

-----
The rest of these features are mainly useful for when you want to run a gauntlet, but only use a subset of decks. For example, I don't want to play my casual decks against my Vanguard decks. These scripts only work if you follow certain naming conventions for your decks. All your Vanguard decks should begin with 'Vanguard'. Then, I classify my other decks into 3 groups by power, and prefix the deck names with T1, T2, or T3. It doesn't matter what's in those groups, as long as you name the decks appropriately.

Magic - Vanguard.exe
Copy only decks that start with 'Vanguard' into your Playdeck folder.

Magic - T1.exe
Copy only decks that start with T1' into your Playdeck folder.

Magic - T2T3.exe
Copy only decks that start with T2' or 'T3' into your Playdeck folder.

etc

By the way, I used the Magic icon for all these files, but if someone wants to create a Momir and Draft icon, I can use those for their exe's instead. That would be pretty slick.

More goodies to try!

I really like what you have implemented with the draft functions. I look forward to trying these new features later on. Might be awhile though as the Xbox MTG game was just released and I'm looking forward to playing it when i have some free time!

Thanks again for staying on top of things and continuing to tweak ManaLink! It's always very much appreciated! 8)

I have literally no idea what the draft icon is, but whatever, it's different, and that's the important part :) Thanks. I've updated my link.

The draft icon is the Angel holding a Balance, for the card Balance from the upcoming set From the Vault : Exiled. :)

My PC keeps finding a Trojan on the "Magic T1T2T3" file...
Hope this is fixed soon.

Regular John> Should be a false positive warning, the executable file delete some files (in launcher, the option delete draft deck) so the antivirus think it's malicious, but it should not be)
