How do you pay the x to stop mana sink countering your spell? Am I missing something very obvious?? Several times my opponent countered a spell, at which point I had the option to play a fast effect. After that option, it tells me the value of x, i.e. 1, but I have no chance to pay x. At what point in the chain can you pay the x??

Weird, I've never had that problem with Power Sink; from memory, I believe it actually automatically tapped the lands until X had been paid... Were you trying to pay with artifact mana? I know Mana Crypt, Signets and Cabal Coffers all can't be tapped at interrupt speed...

If you can post a game save file from the next time the AI casts Power Sink against you, I can have a look at it if you like.

I made a mistake!! It's not mana sink, it's another blue spell, where you pay can choose pay x. i can't remember the name. i'll try and find it.

Are you talking about Mana Leak? I think I had a problem with this card too when the AI was playing it.

I tried testing Mana Leak in debug mode, but I couldn't even get the AI to try to cast it when I had 3 mana open, even when I was targetting it with lethal burn. Shrug... If you could give me more details, I can try again...
