Hello,
My config :
- Windows XP pro sp2
- Only one hard disk, partition is E:
All works perfectly.
Only troubles are : wrong cards pictures (argothian enchantress have "homarid" pics), and some wrong rules cards (drawing a card with argothian enchantress when playing an enchantment is NOT optional, it's an obligation).
Theses troubles are on many others cards.
And Some cards are classified in the bad extension.
But no technical problem.
Thank, it's great !

Thanks for the testing and the reports. We'd love to fix the pictures, but we need someone to give us a correct set.
I don't know what can be done with the rules.

Does the cardartnew named in the wiki http://www.mediafire.com/file/kdwvrz34m ... artnew.zip fix the wrong cards problem?
<edit> I've had it verified that it does. Thanks to Sonic.
We won't be adding this art to the installer because the original files are misplaced, but the fix is easy.

What about adding Jatill's challenges? It would be great to have the CD updated with every release to the date. It would be "old" as soon as another patch is release, but however, it would be easier to patch than now. Now, patching it with all those duelart_new, cardart_new, new backgrounds files and the like, is a little more difficult.
Now I have both CD and HOTU versions: the first for Shandalar game, the other for duels and challenges.
Thanks again, it is a really nice and detailed work!

Yes, I think the same, BUT latest releases have broken multiplayer and Shandalar world. Someone should correct them first and I think nobody cares...EviL_CLonE wrote:It would be great to have the CD updated with every release to the date.
BTW: can anyone else (some casual player) check the problem I have in Shandalar? (not working fix etc)

Ohhhhh I see... You are right, I didn't realize about that. Well, I guess that it's better to have a full functioning game, even if it is a little out of date, than have the lastest non-working software.
I chose to have both versions installed just because what you have mentioned.
There should be a way to fix that, right?

I've found where the ACT fix is installed. If you want to confirm the patch is installed.Lex wrote:Yes, I think the same, BUT latest releases have broken multiplayer and Shandalar world. Well, I think there is a way, but it requires A LOT of work (probably?) as progress went too far.EviL_CLonE wrote:There should be a way to fix that, right?
As I said earlier, I have my windows system on other partition than C:. And I needed to correct registry entry to do proper uninstall procedure. Registry entry concerns file u mentioned and it had C:\Windows as start of path. BUT this file was on my proper partition installed. I do not remember if it was "a517a98e-d5c2-41ea-a12d-47365cbd8813" exactly but for sure it was in AppPatch\Custom and it has sdb extension.Sonic wrote:I've found where the ACT fix is installed. C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\Custom\{a517a98e-d5c2-41ea-a12d-47365cbd8813}.sdb
So: File was installed, just, it seems, was not used by the game itself.
I do not know how it was coded in this release, but if it was hard-coded as C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\Custom\<something>.sdb it should be coded as %windir%\AppPatch\Custom\<something>.sdb instead (I think).

The simplest way to confirm sdb-patch installation: open your "Add-Remove Programs" (or "Uninstall Programs" in 7) and look through list. You must see the entry in the list.Sonic wrote:I've found where the ACT fix is installed. If you want to confirm the patch is installed.
C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\Custom\{a517a98e-d5c2-41ea-a12d-47365cbd8813}.sdb
BTW, the simplest way to install sdb-patch in any windows: open any command-line and type sdbinst.exe filename.sdb. The sdbinst utility is a part of any windows OS.

That's useful to know - Thanks for that.AsBest wrote:BTW, the simplest way to install sdb-patch in any windows: open any command-line and type sdbinst.exe filename.sdb. The sdbinst utility is a part of any windows OS.
One question. Is it safe to assume the command-line takes care of the registry entries when installing the .sdb file as well?

Win7 here.
I'm finding the bundled install works great in some facets. However, there are a good number of cards that seem to either Hang or Crash the client.
I havn't tried to test which cards exactly in all. But as an example Every Land card that you can sacrifice and pay 1 life to search your library for one of two land types causes the game to crash.
Additionally, its hard to get all the way through a sealed deck run without something I do or something the AI does to crash the game.
If additional information is wanted let me know and I'll try to be more specific in any area you request.
Overall... Its a great compilation

As I said, sdbinst is OS native file. So any manipulations with registry is absolutely safe. Of course, if you know what in sdb fileSonic wrote:One question. Is it safe to assume the command-line takes care of the registry entries when installing the .sdb file as well?

Hello, more test :
If i click on "deck builder.exe" directly, the game crash.
But if i clic on "magic", open the general screen then choose "deck builder" in menu, it's ok !!
I've updated the game with last updates (pictures and patch) and now, all is ok, rulling are ok, it's great.
Some cards are still bugged, exemple : rancor don't come back in hand after being sacrified (with auratog)..
