First of all, that's unrelated to the set editor. For card editor to work, you need to download skymagic editor first.Crepuscule wrote:I have problem with editor. When I click on cardeditor.exe file, dos screen open and close but no program start
Anyone can help me?

Ok, so to complete the customization of my 2000 card set, I have to run the "refresh library" thing that says it will take hours? I changed the cards I wanted and then just quit the program, and this didn't work. "Refresh Library" to me sounded like it would undo all my changes so I didn't touch it :p But after reading every post in this thread, it sounds like I need that to make the changes stick? I just want confirmation before I spend a bunch of time at it again :p

Your changes should stick without the 'Refresh Library' button. Just quitting the program should be enough. Which of these are you seeing:aww1979 wrote:Ok, so to complete the customization of my 2000 card set, I have to run the "refresh library" thing that says it will take hours? 1) Cards act like the replacement cards, but text and power / toughnes etc is wrong
2) Cards still work exactly like their original versions, with same art, etc.

#2. Running my2000.exe, I see the changes I made in the list, but when I play the game and select custom mode in the switcher, it's all the original cards.

This is weird from what I understand, so let me just make sure we're 100% on the same page. When you open up My2000 now, the list on the right reflects your changes. But when you run the custom version via the switcher button, you see the original card, including art. Yes?aww1979 wrote:#2. If so, here are a couple more things to try.
(1) If you look in cardartcus at the id for one of the cards you updated, is the art right (i.e. the updated art)?
(2) Run MagicCustom.exe. Do things look good there?

whoops forgot to report.
Ok, there's a glitch I had last time I used the editor (which was the latest release); the editor did replace the cards in the exe. so te cards did work as should have it did not update the Cards.dat. So in effect they shoed up as the cards I had replaced.
I.E. : I had AVATAR akroma in the deckbuilder with the art of turntimber ranger. and when I used it it worked as turntimber ranger.
The way I fixed it is that I manually did a card.dat by fooling csv2dat into making one and renaming it properly afterward so it worked for the custom version.

I assume you ran the installer, and not just the exe? if so, then I'm stumped. Try downloading msconctl.ocx from the web, maybe?sopcich04 wrote:i constantly get runtime errors so it never loads. i am completely updated with my comp and i downloaded vb runtime from microsoft still nothing. am i missing something?

Yeah, that's exactly what I saw.jatill wrote: When you open up My2000 now, the list on the right reflects your changes. But when you run the custom version via the switcher button, you see the original card, including art. Yes?

1) Yes, the custom art is correct
2) I ran that program separately and it seems to work exactly correct. The deckbuilder is my custom list now, and in the playdeck list, there are no decks, whereas before there were all the old decks I had.
From what I'm seeing, everything I have is actually working correctly, *except* the button in the switcher mode that says "custom" :p If I run magiccustom.exe directly, I have no problems. I'd been trying to do it before with the custom button in the switcher menu, and that failed for me.

Well at last you have a good enough workaround. Can you switch to the limited version using the switcher? You can tell which version you are in, since each version has a slightly different title screen.

Yeah, I've had no problems switching to Limited in the switcher menu. I've played with that a couple times already.

I feel like I'm probably missing something incredibly simple here, but I've had this issue on two different computers.
I'm completely up to date with VBRuntime and all Manalink files as far as I can tell. When I try to run My2000 from either the command prompt or Explorer, the DOS window flashes, echos "This takes a long time to load so please be patient." and then copies a bunch of files and then...nothing. From the cmd prompt, it sends me back to the Magic folder. From Explorer the window just flashes closed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Chris

Well, it should be launching CustomSetEditor.exe, so make sure you have that, and can launch it.

Hello!
Thanks to coders for this tool, amazing work
Just wondering, would it be possible to remove cards from the custom set list, or change filters in the deck editor so that i could easily build all-zendikar decks, for example?
Thanks
