Newer is better

As Wizard has often created new cards that are strictly better than older cards.

Have the people on this board in charge of changing the list of cards in the constructed section discussed on a way to remove the cards that are almost never played and usually pretty old ?

I believe one would need to keep balance in color, manacosts and types sets of cards...

I'm asking this because there are plenty of cards that I know I miss and others I never saw being played IRL in the last 15 years.

Thanks for keeping this game alive !

Yeah, the weakest of the cards have already been removed, like Chaoslace. Some cards, particularly those involving counters, like Black Mana Battery and friends, cannot be swapped with newer cards, unfortunately, so they have to stay. The ante cards can't be taken out, either; I forget why, but probably because of the 'remove this card from deck before playing if not playing for ante' clause.

Most of the coders have been focusing on newer cards (or at least new to me given I stopped buying cards in 2000) and I'm actually often requesting more older cards that I grew up on, but you definitely have a valid point here, and it is already being considered.

With the 2000 limit it is tough to make decisions anyways so that is partly why cards are not just swapped willy nilly now.

For a while when we had 1500 cards or so and the limit was 2000 people were adding them like mad.
