Retain Priority?
by kittysoman2013 » 23 Jun 2020, 19:00
Is it possible to retain priority when responding to something?
Example:
Opponent casts a spell.
I want to counter it but need to crack a fetch for the right mana.
After I crack the fetch the stack resolves without an opportunity to counter the spell.
Sorry if this is a basic key press or something. Thanks!

Hi,
This is one of the major limitations of Manalink. When this game first came out in 1997 timing worked a lot differently; the stack didn't exist yet, all counterspells were "faster" than instants, and spells resolved in "batches" instead. That is what you are experiencing when the "stack" (really, a "batch") resolves without an opportunity to intervene.

The latest images for Manalink will be here.
The latest Manalink installation directory will be here. Well, not quite, anymore. Check the latest patches.
