Collectible Card Game Headquarters

Thank you for the mod improving Microprose Magic: The Gathering. Also, an even bigger thanks for the questions answered in all these threads. I know from answering questions in TES: Oblivion forums to those modding up their games that it can be a thankless task. Hell, I've gotten abuse for helping people.

Some pleasant surprises I didn't expect:
1- Improved backgrounds-Lots better than the charcoal looking sketches.

2- Improved artwork on older cards mixed in with keeping the old.

3- Easier using ongoing artifacts/enchantments such as the Soul Net

4- The AI seems improved, but that may just be my imagination.

5- Easier to locate cards when using Demonic Tutor. They now seem to all be in an order, making it easier to find.

The only thing I'm looking for now is premade decks in .dck form to combat/use plus making my own new ones. With so many new cards at once, the possibilities are endless, plus it's all the cards I'm not familiar with thanks to stopping collecting in the late 90's.

A few more old-skool Playdecks...
I took the other 700+ Playdecks offered on this thread and ran them through a batch, setting standard substitutions for old common cards (like Craw Wurm, Scathe Zombies and Merfolk of the Pearl Trident). The result was 161 old Playdecks that are still 100% compatible with the 20110208 update.

Amazingly, many of the decks remain unchanged from the original OEM version (like Armies of Light, Azaar - Lichlord and Pure Evil), 'cause they're build around good solid cards that are still in Manalink Constructed. One of my favorite decks from the old MtG:DotP days, Mechanical Blue, made the grade without a single substitution... and is still a blast to play!

Hopefully others will find these useful. Please report any issues with the Playdecks or the archives.

Of course there are decks posted in the deck and challenges forum.
Also there are decks made for the tournaments but some are for limited play and others for constructed.

Yes , a big thank you is in place to you all, who maintain this amazing project.
I have spent countless hours playing the challenges and some funny decks which are mentioned in this forum.

As a developer (no asm), i'm interested when (not if) you break the 2000 cards limit. And how...
And maybe, in a far far future, someone can start to reprogram the AI from scratch, so the AI can put all cards to good use..

A big thank you to you, Aswan Jaguar, for the huge amount of decks to play with. Yep, I'm a kid in a candy store.

In Oblivion, there was a 255 mod limit, and there are over 30,000 mods. Once you got to 250, the game moved sluggish and at 252+ it would randomly crash. However, we found a way around this limit by combining mods. I don't know how we can do that with combining cards, Dave. Unless we come up with a better way of changing cards out. Which reminds me of a tool for Oblivion modding called Wrye Bash.

This was an all-in-one tool that made ...everything modding simple. You could autocheck the mods you wanted to use and place them so they'd load in order. Load order was very important in getting them to work. Perhaps what we need is a tool for cards, with a box next to them for checking. The tool would list all the cards currently available and you could checkmark the ones you were using and change at will. If a card had problems, you could use the tool to autohide it until an update was available. With such a tool you could download "banned lists" and it would automatically remove banned cards based on name. These would show up red in the text to designate banning.

There was another tool that could autosort your mods into the correct loading order. It was a simple utility that read a notepad list of mods and placed them in order in your oblivion folder. You could download updated lists as more mods were added.

The only way around limits like that is to change the parameters.

Personally i am impressed by the endurance of some developers.

I also like the way this community "works". Usually someone got an idea and just releases the result after a few hours/days/weeks of work on it.
There are no people with a "gimme gimme" attitude around - people just share their stuff and are happy when other people like it.

Oh, man! Yes, Salbei, I know that type and am glad they haven't found the site yet. Reminds me of a scene in Caddyshack:

There's that type, and the type who lambast developers for not doing something exactly their way. They seem to forget that this is all, for the most part, free and developers are being kind by sharing their work.

I feel bad as I'm on disability and don't have the $$ to contribute...who knows, maybe I'll win the lottery or something...if one ever comes to Mississippi.

To everyone that want to contribute, know how to use the editor and is not scared of a boring data entry work, juts let me know
