Other solution for deck editor...

Postby 0rion79 » 16 May 2011, 18:09

Dear guys... sine SO MUCH has been done until now, many times we came back talking about improving the deck editor too, or building new ones. But, since we still lack the sourcecode for this game, each of us has found his/her optimal sulution. My one has been to invest severely on custom version, and to merge cards not by set but by block, placing together also the Tempest & Mirage block, since they hadd the Gerrarht's & weatherlight crew as common element. As you can see, everything looks almost the same, with some minro change to the menu. It works just great for me and I'm ready to share the idea...

i just wish we could redo the program..i had the similar idea by placing them in block cycles that came out from WOTC. for example the mirage, visions, weather light. if i remember correctly. anyways i started to really dig deep into the program to find the references to button sizes and whatnot but have came up with only a little bit of change. i need a real programmer on my side i just dont know it like someone with that knowledge would..lol
can I maze of ith your snowstorm?

Well, the one that you see now is already working great for me :) And you can do the same for Constructed Version too. It has been changed so much that it has lost any value for sealed decks (differently from Limited ed.). It is just a matter of being very patient with the CSV.

I have tried my luck on creating a Deckeditor from scratch. Halfway through i remembered Jatill has already done that in the past -and my attempt so far was very similar.
Only difference was that i wanted to use the images from the old deckeditor for the buttons.

I had some trouble to read things from the CSV. Somehow after around 20 cards it started to skip some things.
My motivation was quite low since Jatill had already provided a functional deckeditor. Only thing left to improve would be some visual stuff (images for buttons etc)so i stopped working on it.
Retired a long time ago. I will not reply.
