@Orion79
What size monitor and resolution do you have? I'm using 60in@1920x1080 and they look perfect. But I see how it gets a jagged edge on your screen.
I will make a new ability graphic/counter for an option in case others see the icons the same way they display for you.
The card back in the cardart folder I created from scratch. It is from a full resolution printable version. I also recreated (via InDesign Data Merge) about 25 sets of of the fronts that are highres/vector printable files.
Here is the Full set for A V R. I recreated the frames for most styles of cards, this includes my new Miracle card frames. In this set most of the card art is high res, but there were many images i couldn't find.

Edit: I change the links to download zip files

I'm using a 190CW Philips monitor at 1440 x 900.
As far as I can see watching the icons & couunters files, they are flawless: it is just the game that has to re-size them and, while doing so, it causes that nasty jagged edge effect.
A scaling matter?
PS: about the back of Magic cards, yours is much better than the original one but I can't find it among your dowloadable files!

@Orion79
The back graphic should be in with the rest of the card backs. (cardback.pic)
@ shinra
I use Photoshop.
The .pic files are just .bmp files that i change the extension to .pic
Change the extension back to .bmp and they should open in just about any image program

From top to bottom I believe they are:
Rampage
Shroud
Shadow
Vigilance
Deathtouch
Lifelink
Rampage is the only one I've ever seen in play. It shows up on Craw Giant in the 20100109 update (where Rampage is the only additional icon), but not in the 20100726 update (the next update I have)... and supposedly any after that. In short, the game is supposed to display the extra icons, and probably once did, but does no longer.
I'm sure this is a bug that may one day be fixed... although low on the priority list (along with adding additional ability icons)

Thanks CirothUngol,for that info I remembered I have seen Rampage icon sometime but I couldn't find it at a later point and then I thought that it must have been my imagination. But for the other icons I don't believe they were ever made to work.
Edit-I remembered and checked Rampage icon still works in mtg2010 ISO version.CirothUngol wrote:Rampage is the only one I've ever seen in play. Those icons have been made by Mathusalem and the rampage ability once did work.
Still, it has been suppressed by Jatill's patch file but I don't remember why. I remember that the rampage icon was on creatures with shadow by mistake.
Shadow icon is not that bad even if I would prefer a face that turns into smoke on one side... while vigilance icon is werd: I would prefer a pair of parallel arrows that go into opposite directions as this:
---->
<----
It gives much more the idea of a creature that attacks and is fast enough to come back for defense too.

@Sarlack, I have made some test and I have found that it is really the in-game obsolete scaling engine that causes the jagged effect and a waste of your icons. I am sure it is the same for other players too.
The first mistake that I have seen is that nor your icons or Mathusalem's ones match the same size used inside the game, that is around 30x30 pixels. Resizing your file's width has led to much better results.
Also, I have seen that the game dislikes some tone of gray and black, given by the antialiasing effect of borders: it tends to replace it with other colors maybe to some palette limit. Still, removing those colors gives a much cleaner effect to icons.
I'm showing you a file to share my experiments: sometimes, you have to zoom to notice what I have seen.

Here are some new ability and counter files to test. One set has White borders and the other is Black
I like the black border for the counters and the white for the abilities.

Sarlack, we are near to perfection here.
Counters are just flawless, while abilities are much better but I still need to resize the file with a width of 30 pixels, then had to retouch each single icon to have them a precise heigh of 29 pixels. If I don't do that, under each icon the game displays a very small black shadow, probably given by in-game coordinates for arts, that increases the jagged effect.
As you can see, my Akroma is flawless due to this "trick".
If I don't resize your ability icons, they looks blurry and are just not nice to see both on my desktop and on my notebook.
Maybe the game is affected by several screen resolutions but then you may want to include my file too, for those users that see them better.
PS: have to agree with your solution! Abilities with white border, counters with black one.

What screen resolution do you use Orion79?
Unfortunately for me, the latest icons are still jagged up in 1024x768 32bits
