Re: Top Ten Wishlist

Postby somacat » 12 Jul 2009, 01:30

Just thought I'd add my top 10 wishlist for kicks, even though I know there's limited space and almost 300 requests on this thread already
1. Tradewind Rider
2. Umezawa's Jitte
3. A Rebel Chain would be fantastic, however it would require multiple cards and space is so tight...
4. Kiki-Jiki, the Mirror Breaker
5. Decree of Justice
6. Eternal Dragon
7. Mystic Snake
8. Volrath's Stronghold
9. Mirari's Wake
10. Wild Pair, which is probably impossible to code, but so much fun!

By the way, I was just wondering if it is possible to add cards from other sets into the '5th Edition' cardpool? I just thought it might help to balance limited a little. For example, black is actually pretty short on removal, and adding Terror or something might help; also a Fog effect might be handy in Green (in a format with Overrun!). Shrug, just a thought - I'm sure there are many bigger priorities at the moment!

First of all, i want to thank you jatill and everyone who participate in this project for the great work you've already done. The result is far beyond that i could dream of.

Damn limit. i think this thought was here around, but if not i'll say it. Is it possible to create a particular set of cards in this range of 2000 such as all cards from Type 2 2009 or 2008 etc, 2000 its aprox 2 blocks + 1 base set ? And if we could have such builds of Manalink (i don't know hоw realistic this idea is..), there could be created a program that can insert/remove cards in Manalink from more wide database to correspond for chosen decks.

ps: sorry for my english, i haven't practice in it for a very long time...

Time Vault works like it should, even if it doesn't have the text. Try with Voltaic Key and see!

ooohhh, nice! I just found out my game crashes when I play voltaic key though, so no luck there :(

so here's my current wishlist:

Tangle wire
Karn, silver golem
Phyrexian dreadnought
Counterbalance

the dreadnought and Karn shouldn't very hard, am I right? Karn's ability is essentially titania's song, and the dreadnought's ETB ability doesn't look very complex to code. they'd make the cardbase that much more interesting :)

and I'd like to ask something, not really a wish though. is stifle possible to code in this game? it seems to me it isn't because the game was made with those pre-6th rules (and no stifle around). just wondering :)

Most of the following are general requests, more for mechanics that I'd love to see, though there are a couple specific requests here.

1) Temporal Aperture

Given that a virtually identical ability is on Maelstrom Angel and Windbrisk Heights, I'm hoping this one should be really easy.

2) Other hideaway ones would be cool, too, like the red one that triggers on doing 7 damage.

3) The other 4 avatars in the Avatar of Hope set. The blue one is cheaper if opp's hand is empty; I forget how the rest work, but the blue one shouldn't be that bad, at least.

4) Wort, Boggart Auntie I saw this one in some goblin netdecks, and based on cards like Genesis or Squee it looks doable to me. It also looks like a great black splash card in goblin decks :)

5) Any "madness" cards. Anyone here remember those madness decks that had 4x Lion's Eye Diamond and loads of madness creatures? I'm not sure if this is codable or not, but the Rules Engine might open up some possibilities. I know Jatill said he couldn't distinguish who made you discard Wilt-Leaf Liege, and that's why it's secondary ability doesn't work, but with madness, it doesn't matter how you discard it.

6) The other "liege" cards like Wilt-Leaf Liege. I looked them up awhile back, and while Wilt-Leaf is probably the best (if he worked), they're all pretty good.

7) Hybrid casting cost cards in the style of Kitchen Finks. I really like hybrid casting costs; they're so flexible, and often very powerful cards, from the few that I've seen, which is basically those already coded.

8) Any more Persist cards. Persist is a fun mechanic, and I'd love to see more. No specific requests, as I don't know the new sets well.

9) Any more Dredge cards. Again, a really fun mechanic.

10) Any more cycling cards, especially Street Wraith. I saw that one in a (now illegal) Hulk Flash deck, and I could well imagine putting 4 of those in a wide variety of decks.

edit: 11/10) Any more alternate casting cost/play cards, like those lands that come into play tapped if you don't reveal a -whatever-, or the other in the Alliance series with Force of Will (Pyrokinesis, Scars of the Veteran, Contagion, Bounty of the Hunt). Again, a fun mechanic that has a great deal of practical use.

12/10) More slivers!

My top 10 cards are:

MisDirection
Snuff Out
Tangle Wire
Counterbalance
Repeal
Goblin Charbelcher
Unmask
Street Wraith
Mind's Desire
Strategic Planning

Some of them are probably impossible to code like counterbalance or mind's desire, others shouldn't be that hard Street Wraith and strategic Planning, for example

Charbelcher isn't coded yet, but it's already in the .csv, one of jatill's long term to-do list

You can check in the Manalink.csv file - all the ones with a 0 following the name aren't coded yet.
