thats great idea Jatill i was actually going to open a post to keep list of cards people have already asked for but cant be coded. Basically saving you and them from extra posting.

What was that mystery card you were gonna code for this tournament in your deck?

It was Exile, he told me so in PMs :p That and Wall of Omens. He ended up using Chastise instead. (maybe he wanted to use both? I dunno :p)

interesting I wasnt aware white had a wall of draw.

yeah Exile was alliances revision of swords to plowshares because of its cheap cost and huge removal power.

personally the only way to real curb the white removal instants is too include an extra white in its casting cost. Thankfully WotC has had the brains to do that with the wrath of god line of spells

I wasn't either until Jatill sent me that PM :p I remember Exile, though; that was around when I was playing.

Hi all, newbie here on the forums. Can I ask which patch I should install to the existing Magic 2010 Custom Installer ISO to get the ff. cards just to name a few:

Mind Over Matter
Sneak Attack
Serra Avatar
Cursed Scroll

I have actually gotten these cards to appear in Deckbuilder, but when I play a custom deck I made (for example, Sneak Attack deck) in duel mode I get 0 cards in my hand and library, and lose the game on the next draw phase.

I installed the 2010 custom installer first, then applied Mok's ML 2.0 patch. I applied the ML201 patch on top of that, followed by the 20100528 patch. I was advised that the 2010 custom installer already had the patch for ML201, so what I basically did above was I downgraded the already updated version. :?

Pls. help. Thanks.

Just a follow up question:

If I install the game using the Magic 2010 Custom Installer ISO, do I still need to install the patches found in the link above? I was given the impression by some members that the 2010 ISO already has the most recent patches already.

So do I do the following to get the cards Sneak Attack, etc:

1. Install the game with MtG 2010 Custom Installer ISO
2. Follow the patching instructions found in http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/Installation (Which will patch Manalink 2.0 by Mok)
3. Install the patch found here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2660

OR simply:
1. Install the game with MtG 2010 Custom Installer ISO
2. Install the patch found here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2660

:?

The MtG 2010 Custom Installer ISO is a special bundle version that will allow to play Shandalar and multiplayer but all the new cards from late 2009/2010 won't be in.

So you have 3 choices :
- Install the MtG 2010 Custom Installer ISO:
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2349
1st post for install instructions

- Install the latest ML update:
http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/Installation

- Install both on separate folders

If I install the game using the Magic 2010 Custom Installer ISO, do I still need to install the patches found in the link above?
No, see the 1st link of this post for support on the custom ISO version, you need to follow exactly the install steps of each version or you customize your own at your own risk.

Is there a reason why we have Sword of Fire and Ice and not Sword of Light and Shadow?

Just wondering...

I was able to get the game working now with all the cards I mentioned. Thanks to everyone for all the help! :D

Glassdust Hulk (Open the vaults style decks, sieve combo etc)
Filigree Angel (Open the vaults style decks, sieve combo etc)
Counterbalance (Control based decks, counter-top Progenitus for example)
thopter foundry (Thopter/sword of the meek style decks)
Zur the enchanter (Assorted enchantment decks)
chalice of the void (Assorted control decks)
Karn, silver golem (Staxxxx)
Mangara of Condor (Death and taxes)
Kiln Fiend (Sligh decks, RG is fantastic)

A bit of this and that, though I heard counterbalance is very iffy. Any problems with the others?

I'm guessing the problem with Counterbalance is that the triggered ability is an interrupt rather than an instant. (yeah, I know that mixed rule versions but whatever :p) By the time the engine figures out whether Counterbalance could have countered the spell, it is past time to respond with an interrupt.

I wouldn't expect those other ones to be too tricky, given currently existing cards, though Glassdust Hulk and Filigree Angel might behave weirdly if lots of things come into play at once with stuff like Open the Vaults. I've seen some pretty weird things happen with Living Death decks, so I'm expecting similar things to happen.

This might sound kind of silly, but I was looking through some junk piles, and I was thinking that Grollub would combo with the Kavu Predator we already have :p Plus he's a beast, for Ravenous Baloth and the like.

Not sure if these cards have been mentioned before, but it would be great to see them in a future patch if they're not impossible to code:

Dream Halls
Pariah
Crater Hellion
Intuition
Stroke of Genius

I've begged for Dream Halls several times, but I suspect it's uncodable. I'd expect Pariah is doable based on Simulacrum; basically, it *is* Simulacrum that goes off every time you get hurt, against the enchanted creature. Crater Hellion is kinda like Flametongue Kavu on everything, probably doable. Intuition seems like it should be easy, but I remember Jatill trying to do it and said it's harder than it looks. And Stroke of Genius is so easy *I* could make it, so it's definitely possible.
