Okay. I installed firefox and downloaded the JRE for windows 8.

I downloaded Java 7, x32 then x64 and neither worked.
I downloaded Java 6, x32 then x64 and neither worked.

It always says this, when I click "Start" after selecting decks.

Right now all I can see in my Programs & Features CP is "Java 7 update 9". It's installed in my Program Files (x86) folder so I assume I installed 32 bit Java.

I'm running Forge 1.3.4 r18926. I have it running from a second partition in "M:\Tom\Downloads\Software\Games\Magic The Gathering\forge-1.3.4".
I run from a desktop link that links to Forge.exe and runs it as an administrator.
That last part - running as admin - is probably where you're dying. The .exe needs admin access to increase the Java heap size for all the memory Forge uses.

I have resolved the issue.

I unpackaged the latest version into a brand new folder. It runs perfectly. I copied over my downloaded images and my user decks.

When I installed Windows 8 I just kept my old folder and copied it over. I'm not sure why it wouldn't run or whats wrong with that copy.

Now

This is like the best version of Forge I've ever seen! The attacking and blocking blows my socks off! Amazing!
