problems playing PvP

I'm trying to play with a friend in multiplayer mode, but we can't connect. I try and create a local server, then my friend tries to log on but the game crashes. The server number comes up as 36743 but when my friend uses it to log on it crashes. Am I doing something wrong? How does my friend log on when the URL promt comes up?

Online games are currently broken and will unfortunately crash as you've described. It should be fixed relatively quickly once someone finds the cause. It's finding it that may take some time.
