Get in the discord if you aren't yet.
Strixhaven and Commander 2021 cards are fully implemented.
Planar Conquest now has a new plane accessible - Ikoria.
In Planar Conquest, it's now possible to collect C19 cards on Eldraine and ZNE/ZNC cards on Zendikar.
In Planar Conquest, the Eldraine plane now holds a little secret that's rather unhinged. It may be difficult to find though.
Quest Mode now has a preference option to enable or disable promos in random reward pool.
Various other game mechanics and AI improvements have been made, please check the Git log for details if interested.

As always, this release of Forge features an assortment of bug fixes and improvements based on user feedback during the previous release run.

The Forge archive includes a MANUAL.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.

The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.

Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.

Once the Forge archive has been decompressed you should then be able to launch Forge by using the included launcher. Launching Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file in the past caused a java heap space error. Forge's memory requirements have increased over time and the launchers increase the java heap space available to Forge. Currently you can launch Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file without a java heap space error but this is likely to change as we add in more sounds, icons, etc.

- The Mac OS application version -
We provide separate macOS builds of desktop and mobile (backported) Forge packaged as native Mac applications. Please check the relevant thread for details and download links.


- Online Multiplayer -
For local network play you should only need two systems running Forge. One to host and one to join and play. For remote (over the Internet) play you will need to ensure that the port used (36743 by default) is forwarded to the hosting machine.

Don't know when exactly this occurred, but sprite_icons.png now has some color depth reduction resulting in artifacts.

On second thought, all the default pngs seem to have been reduced.

EDIT: all basic lands are always Strixhaven 1.

EDIT 2: no, it appears that all cards are always the most recent printing.

Try editing your forge.preference with text editor and change the value (Valid options are Latest, Earliest), if you want the old implementation, just put Default or none as value.

Strixhaven editions file specifies 3 covers. Which booster pics are intended to use? There is 1 set booster art, 1 collector booster art, and 5 draft booster arts.

For some reason, when updating from 1.6.38 to 1.6.40, it downloads 1.6.36 but names the tar 1.6.40Upgrade.tar.bz

The trigger on Battlemage's Bracers isn't quite right. The text states that you need to pay 1 to get a copy of the equipped creature's activated ability, but activating an ability with the Bracers on simply copies the ability without paying, similar to something like Illusionist's Bracers. While fun, it's not quite correct.

When I play momir human vs human, my cpu is always used a lot, this was also true with 1.6.39.

The player (and AI) can select two modes from Shadrix Silverquill for themselves. The player should have to pick one for themselves and one for their opponent.

The Planeswalker Ultimate trophy for Kasmina, Enigma Sage cannot be earned. The card lacks this clause of coding:

EDIT: Will, Scholar of Frost has the same issue and is missing the same piece of code. Rowan, Scholar of Sparks, on the front of the card appears to be coded correctly. I still need to playtest that part.

Pestilent Cauldron should be flagged as a card the AI cannot play well:

In my game, the AI is using the card each turn and paying 1 mana to make me mill zero cards. So the AI is just wasting 1 mana each turn without hurting me at all.

Scrolling when in the menu of Extus, Oriq Overlord has crashed my game three times. I need to remember to not scroll.

hello I have noticed a bug in Harsh Mentor ability triggered by embalm when it shouldn't, it might forgot its supposed to be in the battlefield rather than in hand or graveyard (embalm)

Can we get the Time Vault prompt to default to "No"? This prompt can appear either during your cleanup phase or your opponent's cleanup depending on where you are at in taking extra turns, and it is super easy to skip your own turn as a result since this prompt is not a trigger that you can set to "Always No" or something.

One of the prompts for Closing Statement is wrong. It says "Select up to one target creature you don't control" when this part of the prompt should actually say, "Select up to one target creature you control" (The part where you put a +1/+1 counter on one of your creatures.)
