Option to Exclude Alchemy Cards for Paper-Only Play
by judosnappy » 18 Jun 2025, 06:55
Hello everyone,
First off, I want to say how much I’ve been enjoying MTG Forge—huge thanks to the team for all the effort that’s gone into creating such an amazing platform. It’s been a great way to engage with Magic, and I truly appreciate the work behind it.
I do have a suggestion that I think would improve the experience for players who prefer to stick strictly to paper Magic cards. Would it be possible to introduce an option to filter out Alchemy cards from the card pool? I’m looking for a way to play only with cards that exist in the physical game.
It would also be fantastic if this option could be extended to Adventure Mode, so players can enjoy that experience using just the paper-legal card sets. This would help maintain a more classic and familiar gameplay feel for those of us who prefer traditional Magic formats.
Thanks again for all the ongoing development and support for MTG Forge. Keep up the great work!
Best regards,

Great suggestion, geometryarrow! I completely agree that adding an option to filter out Alchemy cards in MTG Forge would be a fantastic addition for those of us who love the traditional paper Magic experience.judosnappy wrote:Hello everyone,

That's a thoughtful and well-written suggestion thanks for sharing it! Filtering out Alchemy cards to stick with physical paper Magic would enhance the experience for purist players. Applying that filter to Adventure Mode too makes a lot of sense. You might want to also suggest tying it to existing format filters (like Standard, Modern, etc.) so it feels seamless.judo snappy wrote:Hello everyone,
