Standard Starting Pool?

What does this option mean? Does this mean that you will always start with the same cards?

Your Starting Pool in Quest mode will only be grabbed from cards in the current Standard environment. This probably won't be around for all that long since Rob has some more flexible ideas regarding Sets there.

it's a hell of a temporary solution though. Getting those M11 titans more frequently helps a lot the early quests.

I've been stalling lately on working out the formats..

The standard starting card pool only affects the starting pool. The boosters you win and the card shop still use all cards. Theoretically, the format definition can be stored in the quest data, such that all future cards will come from the same pool.

The name of it made me think it was a "default" starting pool with a preset exact group of cards. Maybe it would be a good idea to have something like this though instead of a random starting pool? Maybe having multiple difficulties of pools? It would ease new players into the game with an easy pool, then challenge experienced players with a hard one.

I can see where the confusion can come in, but "Standard" as a very specific term in Magic, even though a lot of casual players may not know what it means.

What about calling it "Type 2 Starting Pool"?

Type 2 is outdated and will confuse new players.

I think that "Standard (T2) Starting Pool" would help a lot of people, including me. I can imagine that people from other countries have a harder time recognizing this as the Magic term, and T2 makes this stand out a little more, even if it's outdated

where's the "trust me, that will work!" switch for the compiler?
