No More Forge

Any reason you didn't ask for help on the forums in the last 5 months instead of just being frustrated? I know what it feels like for things not to work, but we can't help you if we don't know there's a problem.

This isn't the first time I've posted about this. A few of my posts went unanswered. I certainly didn't get the clear answers I got from this post.

I'm going to try some of the solutions to see if I can get it working again. I think the key part I was missing was that these new versions are not meant to be plopped down over the top of the old versions, update style, which is how it was handled in the past.

I think my post has helped people see a couple of key points, which are:

* For someone trying to update Forge for the first time, it may not be as user friendly as it could be.

* The instructions may not be as clear as they need to be, and can be clarified.

* There is frustration involved with the way it is handled now versus the way it was handled previously that needs to be addressed.

There's no malice intended from my previous message. Just frustration and venting the way I feel. Considering the positive responses, it may help clarify a few things for some people in the future. So, it may not have been a waste of time in the end.

It still doesn't work. So, I guess the problems are just beyond my ability to fix. Even installing Forge as suggested just causes it to crash and not work correctly.

So, great program. But, sadly, not one I can play with anymore.
