Where is the fun ?
by Youdz » 22 Mar 2012, 15:44
I didn't find any topic for the people who have a little fun while testing Forge...
So, if you too like to "play" while testing, make the AI suffer things that would drive a human opponent to forcefully feed you every card you own one by one
, or just happened to stumble on a funny situation, feel free to post here.
To start the topic, I'm having some fun with the quest mode, without tweaking any parameters or exploiting any bugs, just to see how stupidly crazy I can go. For the first time, I'm at a perfect record of 95/95, and my goal was to do this before the 100 :

Overkill much ?
No, I didn't spend 12 hours in that game, I was done in 10 minutes tops, the trick is pretty simple and you can probably find it yourself. No cheating anyway.
As to how I got both Moxes, along with Timetwister, Ancestral Recall and all of the P9 except for Black Lotus in less than 100 games, it's just ante-based. I just found Demonic Attorney early enough, stole some nice cards when I could (thanks Portent and other library manipulation that works on the opponent), and finally got the Tezzeret the Seeker + Time Vault combo, so I could take my time milling my opponent, then using Noxious Revival on the cards I wanted and Demonic Attorney them, recurring it all through Elixir of Immortality/Mnemonic Nexus/other similar effect, whichever I found first in the shop. And the AI never complained.
So, did you do anything crazy on Forge recently ?

There's a few classics like this spread through the forum, just never been a dedicated thread. One of the ones you used to see quite a bit was Chameleon Colossus with P/T in the several thousands.
While I was doing some final testing before adding Doubling Cube, I got some very broken wins. With only two out, my Omnath, Locus of Mana wiped the opponent for about 100 000 in barely minutes. Get four cubes out and things are just crazy.

You guys are degenerate thugs and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! I love to hear people playing this game like that... So creative and clever and cheeky. Keep it up.

Thought I'd necro this thread for this. Probably the strongest creature I've had enter the battlefield without any looping combos. Only 1 Doubling Season, 1 kicked Conqueror's Pledge and a hungry Thromok... (who's still hungry by the way)

Of course that's just 24 tokens to devour so I'm sure there'll be a whole bunch bigger meals to come - just thought I'd show how this guy can be overkill with just a 3 card setup.
Thromok the Insatiable - coming soon to a Beta near you!

may use Parallel Lives instead of kicking the pledge.
Will need less mana
Or use Storm Herd instead of conqueror's pledge - that would be cheaper and produce even more tokens

I don't remember the specifics exactly but I do know that cathars crusade, doubling season and mycoloth will lock up the program basically right away
