Written directly as Java code, instead of in Forge's Card Script. We stopped hardcoding a while back because it's very difficult to maintain hardcoded cards, the AI is generally worse for hardcoded cards, and they generally don't follow the game rules as accurately as scripted cards do.saturnine wrote:What does hardcoded mean anyway in this context?

So the cards in the hardcore list will never put in the game anymore?friarsol wrote:Written directly as Java code, instead of in Forge's Card Script. How sad........
Just a little suggestion,I think we can just ignore the AI,and just design the hardcore cards for the human using.
Because many people use Forge to test their decks. AI can use the smooth deck as usual to against the human though it is quite unfair to my little computer.

If you are referring to the Hardcoded list on the Wiki, those are the cards that are currently hardcoded into Forge (they haven't been removed) that we'd like to convert to scripted. There has been a lot of activity here lately (spearheaded by myself) to convert all of these cards.ttdic wrote:So the cards in the hardcore list will never put in the game anymore?

Otherwise, cards that previously would be added in this manner no longer are, and instead need to wait to be scripted, which is much better for Developers and Users alike, trust me on that one.
Occasionally, we do ignore the AI a bit when adding new cards, but it doesn't work for every type of card, since certain cards can affect the AI just as much if the Human plays it.

Cards are always the big stars of the Forge and I see that certain cards are very hard to be coded for many reasons.
Anyways,Forge gives me a lot of fun,it can help me to test my deck and that is enough.
Thanks again for your guys!

Auriok Steelshaper has a similar ability to Puresteel Paladin.
Also Shikari Leonid should be implemented.

Puresteel Paladin adds an additional equip option (Equip 0) whereas Auriok Steelshaper modifies the existing cost. This makes quite a big difference and Forge would have to have additional code to allow it to recognise equip costs. At that point existing cost change code should allow it to be scripted.RevivedPicard wrote: Auriok Steelshaper has a similar ability to Puresteel Paladin.
