Maybe I'm missing something then, I just ran a test with the 4/10 Beta:
I attack with the Hobgoblin (computer is currently at 20 life).
1. Compy takes 2 damage -> 18 life.
2. Then, loses half his life, rounded up -> 9 life.
3. Compy takes 2 damage -> 7 life.
4. Loses half his life, rounded up -> 3 life.
That is correct right?

Yes, it is. I'm also using the 4/10 version. I really don't know what happened, maybe I just got it wrong twice. In this case I'd be really sorry.

Is there a way to recover basic lands sold? I'm trying to run a Battle of Wits deck in quest mode but am now paying the price for those early funds. (Ideally, the card shop would have an unlimited supply of them, separate from the other offerings.)

The Great Wall of Bugs. Gando, you will not be forgotten.
And a chip off the old block.

I play my Master Memnarch deck and use Memnarch to make opponent's Plains an artifact.
Then, I use Memnarch to gain control of the Plains but accidently click the Plains again after selecting it.
To my amazement, it taps and produces 1 white mana to help me pay for gaining control of it!
First of all, you should not be able to tap opponent's permants unless by card effects.
Second, you should not be able to gain mana from lands opponent controls by clicking them.
The Memnarch is a powerhouse card on it's own but being able to tap opponent's lands to pay for it's abilities is just too much!
Another one of those "should I even report it because I secretly like abusing it" bugs.

I will add this into the next version (every shop repopulate will add 10 of each basic, and 5 of each snow land?)freestorageaccount wrote:Is there a way to recover basic lands sold? This reminds me of that bug in the old Shandalar game, where you could tap compy's lands at the beginning of his upkeep (which would not just prevent any casting of spells, but also give him manaburn for each tapped landMr.Chaos wrote:I play my Master Memnarch deck and use Memnarch to make opponent's Plains an artifact.

Anyway, I've just fixed this in my local version...

I recall this happening a couple times but I never really got to report it; returning Mulldrifter with a Debtors' Knell at your upkeep doesn't draw you any cards. I guess it could be buggy with other creatures with CIP abilities too.

Vecc,
Ahhh, this is because any ability that's get dumped on the stack during the upkeep that causes card draws currently don't work (this is why cards like Howling Mine don't work).
I still haven't gotten around to fixing this... it seems very tricky.

Compy is at 4 life with 5 lands in play and plays Bountiful Harvest.
Compy gains no life. He should have gained 5 life.
This happened while compy played a random generated black/green deck.

Fixed in SVN. This was just a typo in cards.txtMr.Chaos wrote:Compy is at 4 life with 5 lands in play and plays Bountiful Harvest.

You can change the last line of Bountiful Harvest to this:
- Code: Select all
SVar:X:Count$TypeYouCtrl.Land

Hm... It turns out that when I tapped Sol Ring for an
cost, X was incremented by only one, but the other mana was sitting in my pool ready-to-use. Still, this behaviour seems counterintuitive.
EDIT: In a reversal of rulings, if the computer plays a Sower of Temptation and targets Visara the Dreadful for the ability, killing the Sower in response should prevent control of Visara changing at all. This applies in general to effects that last "for as long as" some condition is met. I don't know how the programmers would decide what to do in this situation, but forcing Forge to comply to the most recent official set of rules is likely a bad idea. Besides, I like combat under the more natural pre-M2010 system much better than now.
EDIT2: I think I bought a Raging Ravine for $10 and its selling price was $200. It also happens to be missing from all-prices.txt.
EDIT3: If you expand the prompt pane in the upper-left corner and win the current game, the resulting window remains and you can still click through the phases (sometimes the computer even plays stuff)! I wonder whether anything significant is happening here?
EDIT4: Remember this bug? Today, compy attacked with elf after elf into a Dark Confidant and Sorceress Queen. All was going well... until an Imperious Perfect unexpectedly survived! Darn. Also, I already suggested a separate rarity label for purchased cards, but displaying 'n' for recently won cards in the bottom pane of the card shop and a price column in both panes of the deck editor could be helpful.
EDIT5: I would like to use the ability of Daru Encampment on a token from Crib Swap, but it's not recognised as a Soldier. Is there a neat way to have changelings pass any creature-type tests? To much more than compensate for that disadvantage, however, the card shop just offered several copies of Isochron Scepter, Diabolic Edict, and sundry counterspells. If a counterspell is used with the Scepter at an inappropriate time, an exception occurs, but it can be bypassed if you have another activated ability or spell to attempt to cast. Trying instead to play a land causes a dialog with one option to appear but won't purge the impossible counterspell. Otherwise, they work normally and beat the eagerly-spell-playing AI like a drum. (I'm happy to have failed to find any other bugs with the Scepter so far -- I even tried Howl from Beyond, and it does nothing as it should(n't?) (well, at least outside of applications such as with Horobi, Death's Wail).)

Compy is cheating again!
Compy uses Bribery to grab Wren's Run Packmaster from my deck and put it in play on his side.
However, since he has no elves in play, Wren should be sacrificed. Guess what? No sacrificing today.
Really bad compy! Although I suspect it is a Bribery related issue.

Wow! I post 3 bugs/errors in the last couple of days and each gets fixed in less than 24 hours after posting!
Thanks guys!
Maybe we should move up to something more challenging? Like... world peace or global warming?

Of course I reported the bug with the player being able to use all of the computer's mana sources on February 16th, so I don't know if Dennis should get the 24 hour credit for that oneMr.Chaos wrote:Wow! I have to admit that I'd gotten addicted to using the computer's mana (and preventing the computer from being able to cast spells is just overkill) until I my 9-year-old daughter asked why I was doing something I knew was wrong

A woman came up to me and said / "I'd like to poison your mind / With wrong ideas that appeal to you / Though I am not unkind."
