If you using the 12/22 beta, I fixed this after that was released. If you're using SVN, let me know.

Here's a good 'un -

Thorn Thallid makes saprolings, instead of pinging for damage. Changing the line that starts with A:AB$Token to this instead fixes it:

Code: Select all
A:AB$DealDamage | Cost$ SubCounter<3/SPORE> | Tgt$ TgtCP | NumDmg$ 1 | SpellDescription$ Thorn Thallid deals 1 damage to target creature or player.
Posting an occasional fix makes me feel much better about the (invariably more complicated) bugs that I can only report without suggesting solutions!

And speaking of tougher bugs that I can only point out, without adding anything constructive -

I used Gravespawn Sovereign to pull a Wall of Omens out of the AI's graveyard - and the AI got to draw a card when it came into play, instead of me.

(I haven't tested this for replication yet - maybe I'll build two decks, one with nothing but copies of Swamp, Gravespawn Sovereign, and Doom Blade, and another with nothing but Plains and Wall of Omens, and run them against each other....)

-Zirbert

Edit / update after further testing - it seems that when I grab pretty much any creature from the AI's graveyard, it sets off enter-the-battlefield triggers as though it entered play under the AI's control. Wall of Blossoms and Wall of Omens give the AI a card, Cloudcrown Oak gives the AI an elf, Borderland Ranger lets the AI go get a land, Elvish Harbinger lets the AI go get another elf, Eternal Witness gets the AI a card back from its graveyard, and allies that I steal give their enter-the-battlefield bonuses to the AI's allies, but not the other ones I'd already pulled from the AI's graveyard.

Just downloaded the newest version, but still the Phytohydra does not work. It dies when taking lethal damage, instead of getting counters. :(

Can't use my pestilence/Phytohydra deck, so i will keep using an older version ...

There has not been a new version since the Phytohydra bug was fixed in our codebase, but there should be one any day now.

If any of these were already mentioned my apologies.

Copyedit
- Platinum Emperion isn't a Colossus as it is coded in Forge but a Golem as printed on the card.
- Shouldn't Symbiotic Beast be an "Insect Beast"?
- There is a triad of race-less non-artifact Soldiers: Intrepid Hero, Alert Shu Infantry, Alaborn Grenadier
- The text of Abjure: "sacrifice 1 Permanent.Blue."
- Peculiar: Phantom Nishoba notes in its text that "(NOTE: "Whenever Phantom Nishoba deals damage, you gain that much life." not implemented, instead Lifelink.)" However Zebra Unicorn has "K:Whenever CARDNAME deals damage, you gain that much life." Probably I'm missing something here.
- Derelor's text:"Black spells you cast cost Black more to cast."
- Borderland Behemoth doesn't have trample as it should: the ability isn't on the card's text and the combat damage dealt doean't carry over to the defending player if it's blocked.
- Thrull Champion lacks the text "All Thrull creatures get +1/+1".
Sima Yi, Wei Field Marshal has two dashes in its type line.
- When converting pertinent cards to PT with * Tarmogoyf and Terravore weren't converted, and that, when viewed on card detail panel in the Deck Editor, Lhurgoyf is a 0/0.
- Just in case someone runs a deck with All Is Dust constructed in the previous revisions (before 12-11): you'll have to manually edit "All is Dust" to "All Is Dust" in the *.dck file so it doesn't show an error message when loading a pertinent deck.
- Giant Warthog should be a "Boar Beast"

AI Shenanigans
- The AI activates land animating abilities, Raging Ravine and Ghitu Encampment in this case, and "forgets" it can't tap them for mana if it wants to attack which it could with no response available to me.

Malfunctioning Cards
- One should be able to cancel Wild Mongrel's pumping ability in case one clicks on it accidentally.
- I tried to use Black Mana Battery to pay for the casting cost of a spell after getting the pertinent prompt, but noting happened when I clicked the Mana Battery so half frustrated and half wondering I clicked on it a few more times just to see if it wasn't a computer lag or my pen tablet acting up. I gave up trying to use the Mana Battery and proceeded to pay for the spell with the available lands. Just after the spell went on the stack I got the choice prompt for the Mana Battery, I OK'ed it and it appeared again several more times and I OK'ed all of them. In total with this neat little trick I got 6 black mana. With more testing I found that the number of prompts one gets should be roughly equivalent to the number of times one clicks (40 mana anyone?), that this happens also if you cancel the aforementioned spell and that this happens for all mana batteries.
- Trample interacts weirdly with lifelink when an attacking creature with trample and lifelink is blocked. Two life gain instances are "triggered", the first for the damage assigned to the player, the second for the damage that would be assigned to the blocking creature if the attacker hadn't trample. See the appended screenshot below.
slithfirewalker.JPG

- I was under the impression casting through madness was optional even for Basking Rootwalla. By that I mean the stack description of the ability is formulated as a question but I get no prompt to respond to.

Error Reports
The "2011-01-07-00.txt" error report below was caused by my canceling the choice prompt for the second ability of the Black Mana Battery. After some testing it can be safely assumed this happens for all of the mana batteries. This locks up the program. If I OK it even with 0 counters removed it produces the expected amount of mana. This appears to be a similar error to the one I reported for Gemstone Array.

Miscellaneous Comments
- Was right-clicking to undo a mistaken attacker declaration intentionally removed as a feature? I might add that being able to undo mistakes done while assigning blockers would be great as I'm a bit heavy handed on my pen tablet.
- When I have the Deck Editor maximized that rather helpful footnote thingy detailing the contents of my deck is hidden by the Windows task bar.
Only when I restore the Deck Editor it and pull the window up and pull the bottom of the window down can I access that bit of information. Just in case it's pertinent my screen resolution is 1024x768. It probably has something to do with the size of the items on the right pane (see the composite screen capture below). I think it may have something to do with the 1 pixel margin on the set tag. Uh... and one would think the Damage and Damage Assigned items would be unnecessary in the Deck Editor.

Anyway, I hope this helps :)

Encountered the following problem: it was AI's turn and he cast Mox Pearl. At first, I decided to counter it with Assert Authority but then cancelled it, returning the card to hand. After that, AI played Thieving Magpie and I decided to counter it with the same Assert Authority. Only this time, wasn't given the pop-up asking me to choose spell to counter and after paying mana cost, Assert Authority entered stack targeting Mox Pearl (which was already in play, and thus my spell had no effect).

Can't you? I just tested this and it gives me a prompt to discard a Card. And I can cancel out of it. Maybe this was fixed since the last beta.

This is fixed.

Removed? It shouldn't be removed. I just used it yesterday. There was some weird timing related to that, which may have been fixed since the latest beta. I attempted to get right clicking to unassign a blocker working, but there was something about it that was being overridden. When I have some time I'll try to get back to it.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing on my Apple iMac. Choppic and I have made a few mods to the deck editor over the last couple of weeks. We will release a new beta this upcoming weekend. I think that the problem that you noticed will be fixed.

The card detail panel that holds the text that describes a card will resize from one card to another. Highlight a card and then press the down arrow and you will notice that the card detail panel will increase and decrease in size.

In my recent limited testing after the deck editor mods, this problem now appears to be a thing of the past. :)

It appears that giving creatures -1/-1 with Umerzawa's jitte won't kill them if they reach zero toughness. I was unable to kill both silver knight and imperious perfect this way, they just remained 1/1s after the second -1/-1 ability resolved.
