Editing the deck file would be a good place to start. You can leave an attachment here is this topic. This will give the user base a chance to play test it and in turn give you a chance to make a few last adjustments.

I posted a list of cards the AI can't use well in this old topic (viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4029&start=30#p63008). I would love to see the list get shorter in your next version.

How often will the AI update it's drafting databank? Is it done manually or automatically with every SVN update?

I haven't finalized anything yet.. still haven't even revised the AI to make use of the data. Still have a ton more data to collect.

The data should be included in each beta release, we can likely have Maven pull the data file during the build process. I'll also add a menu item to download fresh data, so you don't have to wait.

back to to original topic I'm not having much luck with chanting "true" to "false" I'm still getting 2 mythics per booster etc.

"Name:FF
DeckFile:FF
IgnoreRarity:False
LandSetCode:M11
"
Is that how the top part should look?

Im wondering if there are any improvements being worked on for the draft AI currently?

Right now its pretty much horrible, really late like 12-13 pick Planeswalkers happens pretty often, so its not that rare to end up with 2 or even 3 sometimes. Doom Blades and other great cards seem to be hated by the AI too. [-X Titans 5-6 pick, always awesome!

I just started to draft multiply times myself, so that the AI gets a deck that has any kind of chance, maybe add the option that we can control more than 1 draft slot? That would probably be the best way to improve the decks and make them a lot less insane in general.

Last Pack, Blue/Black opening Mind Control and Baneslayer and some junk... so I take Mind Control and what comes back? Baneslayer lol. Next Draft to end it up, 13th pick... Ajani Goldmane.

I have been collecting draft pick data from anyone who's played Draft in the past 2 months. When I finish the Launch GUI overhaul, I will begin working on a means to integrate the data into the AI picks.

Check out the draft data collected:

The draft data is super important although the results are a bit... odd(?) right now. I love data so don't think I'm hating here Rob ;) but let me point out a few that stand out. I am wondering if the rating formula should be re-evaluated or possibly something else is happening. Maybe the rating is being overwritten in every single draft upload?

In Block, Iron-Barb Hellion was "drafted" 300+ times, and the data says it's an absolute bomb ranking very high on the list. But if you look at the other 5DN cards # there's no way it was actually drafted that many times.

In Full Draft, Stenchskipper has a high rating, but it was drafted 0 times out of 7. Furnace of Rath, Forced Fruition, and others are similarly drafted 0 times and ranked very high score.

In Custom Draft, how does a card like Iwamori of the Open Fist rank high on the list (8 picks, 88 passes) while Kodama of the North Tree (8 picks, 94 passes) is one of the worst cards in custom draft?

The ranking value isn't based on the number of times it's been picked, so much as when during the draft it was picked. Cards picked first get ranked higher. The pick counts were a metric to help know how often folks were uploading data. It might be useful as a tiebreaker, if necessary.

I get that, but did you look at the examples I showed?

To highlight the issue in a different way: how does Iwamori get picked 8 times, passed 88 times, and manage to be highly ranked? It's ranked higher than Ancestral Recall, all the Mox, Time Walk, Demonic Tutor, etc.

I understand that you're trying to give higher values to cards that are picked highly. That's a good goal. But I know that I have been picking all of the cards I just listed very highly. A system that says Iwamori is rated better than the cards I just listed... well, what do you think?

OK, now I just did a draft and Mox Sapphire is one of the highest rated cards. I did pick it highly. So, it appears the code is overwriting the rating every time you upload.
