Any chance we could tie in the community rating field from MTG gatherer so I can sort cards by community rating? This would make it pretty easy for me to have a good cube to draft from.

I've thought about this too. Where would you like to see this in Forge?

Shouldn't it just be another column in the Deck Editor? That seems handy.

Hi,
What about adding sfx sounds? I mean, if you tap a mountain for example you hear a rocky sound, if you summon a goblin you hear a harsh voice and so on...
If it weren't difficult to implement it'll make forge a "livelier" game.
Also it'd be cool if Forge had its "own" music. you can use free-license music for example.
Finally, what about manapool displayed as a smaller window and out of the batlefield? (with a number indicating the amount of mana you have of each color in your mana pool rather than one symbol for each mana you have), we'll get some extra space on the batlefield and it'll be clearer.
I don't know anything about coding so sorry if my requests implies a massive amount of work..I love this game and I want to suggest something which could improve Forge even more :D

Hi.
We had sound effects a long time ago, in a gal... Well, you know. Unfortunately they took up alot of heap space and combined with a few other reasons we stopped supporting them.

As for manapool outside of the battlefield, Doublestrike's upcoming GUI overhaul may be addressing that. :)

Does anyone know what is happening with Double-Faced Cards? I know it's probably a bit of work implementing it, but it seems doable and it's weird having such an important aspect of Innistrad missing.

Did you see *any* of my posts on the subject in response to you?

There's a topic in the development forum for a possible system to implement them (called Multistate cards test drive), which will be in the beta after the next at the earliest if I'll have my say. This is in order for them to be as bug-free and integrated with the rest of Forge as possible.

Sorry, I just found your other response then, not sure how it eluded me, but somehow it did. Now I know, thanks, hope it works!

That would pretty much work for me for the Community Rating to be displayed there. Since there's no way I can keep track of the thousands and thousands of cards in this game, it would provide new ways for me to play. Such as building a deck full of horrible cards, building a deck of non-banned but coveted cards, helping me decide between a few cards with similar abilities, etc.

It doesn't have to be some dynamic field that actively checks the site. If there's some way to parse the data before a new build is released that would be new enough.

Drafting: send the player directly to the deck editor and load the drafted cards automatically after done drafting?

Tournament mode

Postby Tranberry » 28 Oct 2011, 00:17

I would love a tournament mode in Forge.

Similar to what you got in Mage or whatever the name was of the competition ;)
User experience, make or break. MtG drafting is fun.

Is there any way we could spruce up the playing field? Things like customizable colors and the mana pool being the back of a magic card instead of just black would be a start

Doublestrike is busy working on the main battlefield overhaul. Another few weeks according to his first estimate.

In the meantime you can select different 'look-and-feel' skins from the main screen menu. That will give you some basic color variation. And for the mana pool image, just place the image you want in the /res/pics folder and name it mana_pool.jpg. We try not to distribute any copyright material directly from the forums here, so if you don't have a card back you can use this Forge specific card back I created for an upcoming skin. It's ideally meant for the morph.jpg image but its something for now.

If you place an image file named mana_pool.jpg into your res/pics folder it will be used for the mana pool. Not sure if it has to be a certain size. You can also try using the "Look & Feels" in the main window under Menu->Display Options. Also, yeah, what Marc said. :)

This is probably so obvious that it's already being implemented, but it would be nice if you could view the top card of players' libraries when there are cards that reveal them, like Vampire Nocturnus.
