I have a Galaxy S5 and I was trying to play yesterday and there was definitely a significant slowdown. Enough where when I would try to tap a creature to block, most of the time it would be so delayed that the details panel would pop up instead of the creature being assigned to block. Outside of combat the slowness wasn't really as noticeable, so maybe it's something to do with all the extra caching that's going on with the new UI stuff?

Huh, maybe it's just with certain cards, newer cards no doubt, I was able to use a precon deck and play an entire match unhindered. Though, to be fair, the field never got too crowded because I was using a control deck.friarsol wrote:I have a Galaxy S5 and I was trying to play yesterday and there was definitely a significant slowdown. I am not entirely sure. I used the image downloader located in the main forge thread here, that downloaded 22,972 card images, and then IrfanView with default settings to resize them.Scion of Darkness wrote:ABrighterShadow how do you batch download from mtgimage?

I forgot to mention that the method I described did not get me all the images. I am missing a few sets.Scion of Darkness wrote:ABrighterShadow how do you batch download from mtgimage?

Card Image Downloader didn't get all the images? I got every single one, even CNS and C13 which was missing when I use Forge LQ downloader. Did you open Forge while downloading? mine was incomplete once when Forge interrupt the downloader. Or Have you try empty card folder before start download? The program should read from res folder and download every images missing.ABrighterShadow wrote:I forgot to mention that the method I described did not get me all the images. Try locate \cache\pics\cards and delete the folder of the missing set and start download again. It worked for me.

I compiled and tested an Android build based on r27639 on an older Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (where the slowdown is most noticeable from the devices that I have). It still appears to be significantly slow in combat (e.g. there's a roughly 5-6 second delay before the blockers can be assigned, even though there's only one attacking creature and only one possible blocker), touching the screen before the lag goes away makes the card detail panel appear (and then the lag continues, so it's "difficult" to get the card detail picture to go away, you have to wait 5-6 seconds or so for it to "unlock" the game so you can get rid of it). Outside of combat, I think this revision is somewhat faster even though I can still tell there's a noticeable difference e.g. in drawing cards from the library (for instance, the initial 7 cards for the starting hands appear to be populated somewhat slower than in the pre-.004 builds; it's not a huge deal but it's definitely tangible because you can hear and see every individual card go to your hand with approximately a half-a-second delay each on this particular device, while .002 populated the entire hand in one or two big chunks in the matter of a second or so).elcnesh wrote:The caches should now cache much less, so hopefully it'll be a bit faster again.

So I'm wondering if perhaps this has anything to do with me bumping the Android version to 20? If nothing else, perhaps some of the recent refactoring changes could have helped some. I can always bump the version back to 20 once we rule out that being related.
Agetian, I just committed a change to make the version 19 again, as well as up the app version to 1.5.28.005. Could you please publish it since I still can't access the FTP?
Please make sure you first do Maven rebuilds for the dependent projects before doing the publish to ensure the latest changes to the other projects are included.
Here's hoping this helps. Thanks.

I see the slowdown also in 004. I can alpha strike and desellect creatures, but cannot select creatures to attack. Instead they zoom in. To zoom out I have to hit the back button. Reverting back to an older version I no longer have this issue.
Another issue...I've had for a while, when downloading LQ images it is skipping some 580+ images. I can figure out why.

@ drdev: Ok I uploaded .005 to the FTP server. Will give it a test on my devices in a while and will report my experience here.
