The scavenge ability that is given by Varolz, the Scar-Striped seems not to work correctly for all creatures. These are the creature with wrong scavenge costs that I've found out about.
- Viridian Emissary, Thragtusk (scavenge cost 0)
- Deadbridge Goliath, Wood Elves (scavenge cost {2/G})

and now echo returns /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_45.jdk/Contents/Home like i'm guessing it's supposed to but the problem with forge is still happening
It was a long shot. I performed several google searches and we have pretty much determined that the results found were not helpful.
I did get a hit for a tutorial in reading the type of crash log that yow have included in your messages. Unfortunately, I do not posses the java skills needed to fix this bug even with the tutorial.
I believe that you have stated that you can launch forge but it will crash when you are in a section of forge that requires that a card picture be displayed. Is your hard drive formatted case-sensitive?

It's not case-sensitive. And correct, all menus work fine, and starting a game or opening the deck editor loads the ui successfully, with all the contents (the list of cards is fine and all that), but it stalls with an empty card picture for a few seconds, then crashes.
I've redownloaded card pictures a few times and that processes just fine, except that it always indicates that I need to download all the pictures, even though I should already have them.

Eldrazi Temple's 2 mana ability doesn't work. I haven't gone through all possible spells, but with the three or four I've tried, when I want to cast them, only one mana is generated with Eldrazi Temple.
(First post here, thank you for the amazing work!)

Check your mana pool for the other mana. Sometimes it goes there.Zypsilon wrote:Eldrazi Temple's 2 mana ability doesn't work. I haven't gone through all possible spells, but with the three or four I've tried, when I want to cast them, only one mana is generated with Eldrazi Temple.

Hmm, what type of an account are you launching forge from? Launch the Systems Preferences app and click on the Users & Groups button.
I am using an administrator account and this gives forge the permissions that are needed to save the pictures that are downloaded.

Admin account, and I didn't delete the old, working LQ set pictures or anything before or after the problem started. It seems entirely possible it's to do with how Mavericks handles permissions but I don't know enough about that to say, really.

It could be that there's just something I need to chmod but I don't know what it would be.

I did a Get Info on the following folders and they all are set to Read & Write for my account:
Forge
Caches
pics
boosters
cards
fatpacks
icons
precons
symbols
tokens
tournamentpacks
Read the instructions found in the forge.profile.properties.example file and located the folders listed above.
Read these instructions:
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13799?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
and change the permissions to Read & Write for those folders.
The following link (re: Privacy and Assistive Device Access) may also solve your problem:

All the permissions are set to read and write (for my user; "everyone" is set to read only but i'm the only user). Forge doesn't show up on the list of assistive devices, nor does java.
By the way, thanks so much for all your help so far! We will crack this nut!

Definitely not there. Tried while having the Eye of Ugin around. The cost is substracted by 2, but the Eldrazi Temple only provides 1 mana.friarsol wrote:Check your mana pool for the other mana. Sometimes it goes there.

If you tap the land before casting the spell, are you given the option to add 2? In other words, is this only an issue if you tap the land while paying the cost for the spell after starting to cast it?Zypsilon wrote:Definitely not there. Tried while having the Eye of Ugin around. I encountered a bug with Propaganda. As you can see in the screenshot AI did not pay for Propaganda. It just paid the activation for Sneak Attack. Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is not tapped since I used Maze of Ith on it. Or is my understanding of the rules wrong such that Emrakul's property "protection from colored spells" also includes enchantments?
