I haven't done any coding recently. I'm glad that Dennis, Rob, and zerker have been coding more than me, lol.

Also, it shouldn't be too hard to make a "comes into play sac/return" keyword, i.e. getting ~90% multilands in mtg a piece of cake to put in. Also, I can make Mutavault right off the bat and Reveillark shouldn't be very hard.

Wow, MTGForge is really becoming amazing!
Y'know, if the interface got spruced up a bit (maybe from a certain frenchman in the Manalink forums) we'd have a truly killer program here!

Did anything ever come of this?

I am thinking no. Not because it wasn't appreciated but because some people procrastinate until someone kicks them in the pants. Hard.

LOL. I am very respectful of MTGAres' work, and would not want to irritate him. I'm sure he has many important things going on right now.

Maybe people would really love playing the applet, online version, I don't really know. Personally I think having an online version of MTG Forge doesn't seem like that big a thing but maybe it is.

Well, the main reason I'm interested is to see if we could get it up and running in Windows Mobile. Playing MTG on my phone would rock.

There are a few people I've been trying to get into the game, who don't trust downloading stuff. If it was an applet they just point the browser to, then they would be more open to it. I just got an email from a friend who either couldn't get a successful download from my free space, or doesn't know about RAR even though he's supposedly a systems admin professional.

The thing I liked about the browser version that has been online for a short while was that you could play MTGForge on any computer, anywhere without downloading it.
Sit at work, open the browser, goto the site and play a quick game while the boss thinks you are working.
But since that version was taken down, we are forced to really work now. :(

Sure, you can run MTGForge from a USB stick but that is not always allowed in the office.
So the applet has its uses, bring it back online!

Online apps have a viral capability that the current version lacks. An online version would guarantee much wider exposure, bringing more help into the fold, that's why it's important.

I doubt you could play MTG Forge on your phone because
1. your screen in too small
2. MTG Forge requires a full Java installation

Getting the applet to work shouldn't be too hard but that is only a guess. It seems like all I have to do is compile everything and make a simple webpage that has an applet tag. (And when I say compile everything I mean the source code that was modified to work as an applet which you can download here.)
