Dumbest question ever but.. how do I declare blockers?

Postby Cadaea » 29 Sep 2013, 23:43

I feel so lame for asking this question, but either I'm doing something ridiculously wrong or it's just bugged. I can't declare blockers .. at all. I've tried left clicking, right clicking, middle mouse clicking and I'm unable to 'select a creature to block.' None of my creatures are tapped and none of them say 'unable to block.' I can select the creature I want to block but I can't select any of my creatures when prompted to.

Any help would be great because this is looking to be an amazing program! :) Thanks.

Select the attacking creature to "Activate" it. Select the blocking creature to block. Once you activate an attacking creature it stays activated until you select another attacking creature.

Well the problem is I can't 'select the blocking creature to block.' Nothing happens. I just end up taking the damage and my creature is still there. I can select the attacking creature that I WANT to block (it puts a blue circle on top of that). I CAN'T select the creature that I want to block WITH (right clicking or left clicking does nothing).

This may sound dumb, but make sure the computer doesn't have anything out that prevents you from blocking.

Nope. :( I've tried blocking many different things and nothing. I've created more than 20 games to test it and can't block in any of them. Can't block against 1/1s with nothing else on the card nor can I block against any large creatures.

Hmmmmmm... Can you post a screenshot of the game state? That might help the devs troubleshoot what's going on.

Hey Cadaea. You called the "declare creature to block" message a prompt and I have a hunch you're actually passing priority by clicking on "OK" or hitting the space-bar. You don't have to interact with or dismiss this message. After you left-click on the attacker you should left-click on your desired blocker with no intermediary steps. You can then click on another attacker to set up another block. To multi-block a creature, you'll have to click on the same attacker a second time to choose the second blocker, and so on. Right clicking on a blocker removes it as a blocker entirely (if it's blocking more than one creature, all blocks are undone.)

Here is the step by step process just in case you notice something you've been doing differently.

1. Pass priority into the declare blockers step. You'll receive the "Human, declare blockers" message.
2. Left click on the creature you wish to block. It should receive a blue "selected" icon.
3. Make sure you're not clicking on anything other than your intended blocker, or tapping the spacebar.
4. Click on the creature you wish to block the attacker. A green shield icon should appear on your blocker.
5. If you want to assign other blockers, click on an attacker again.
6. When you're done, click on "OK" or hit the space-bar.

I really hope that's it, but please let us know if it isn't. :)
