We can have Black Lotus?!? Oooooooohhhh boy!

I mean, NOBODY out there in his right mind plays with a Black Lotus anymore. And we get the chance to just eye the cardlist and say: "I think I will use 4 Black Lotus in this deck".
Somebody better go clean the fan.

This is saved as a PNG file with transparency. You can just rename the extension, and java had no problem loading it. The forum software didn't like it though.

I spent a little time with this one today. I wanted to have something to use for the moment. I realize that this one could not be included with the archive that we distribute to the public.

Oh, and thanks for the new manapool image, I like it better than the one Dennis included. (sorry, Dennis)
Google Images, first result :D.

Though fears assail the door.
O foliage, cloak thy ravaged one
In vestments cut for war.

However we can have it in i.e. card-pictures.txt :-"

Thanks, Dennis, but I just got it to work. For some reason, my download kept ending too early. I tried downloading repeatedly until I got the full 2.44 MB (I got anywhere from 84KB to 1.9MB for most of my attempts).
A woman came up to me and said / "I'd like to poison your mind / With wrong ideas that appeal to you / Though I am not unkind."

Rob Cashwalker wrote:I made the mana pool image. I just threw it together quick. I don't think we should include the one you posted, because the mana symbols are trademarked. But I was thinking more along the lines of using a generic version of the 5 colored dots like on the back of magic cards... just magnified to fill the width of the card image size.
I used Rob's work and made some modifications and came up with this generic mana pool jpg image. This is the best that I can do myself with my limited graphic arts abilities. I think that this could be distributed with the MTG Forge archive.

Oh, I added a 6th dot in the middle to represent colorless mana.

It looks OK, I guess. But I wasn't terribly happy with the original image either anyway.

Take out the words mana pool or make them less obtrusive/yellow and the background and you have a concept...even a transparent background might be appropriate since the mana circles are fairly distinct.

I like the latest manapool image. The fact that it even states "mana pool" makes it a bit clearer to the unexpecting player what that big blob of a card does in his play area behore he played anything.

Just put it in the game to see what it looks like in action...
I agree with Gando on the letter coloring, yellow is a bit hard on the eyes. (still like the idea of putting the name in there though)
And seeing it in game, I too think about a simple transparent version with just the name (maybe just black letters) and the colored orbs. (I like the addition of the colorless orb, by the way)
However, artistic skills at -10 here  , so I leave that to others.

I understand MC, my artistic talents are non-existent. Rob had posted a few graphic elements earlier that I felt could be combined and we would have something that we could release to the public at this time.

I agree that the people who download Forge from google and who do not visit this site could use a clue that this is the mana pool.

The yellow text on the black background is kind of cool in my opinion. I stole this idea from Rob, his generic card jpgs use a similar theme. If you check the pics folder from a recent download you will see this theme in the small collection of included jpg token pictures.

If you chose the large card size and then check the mana pool in the game you will see that the name is readable at that small size. Granted, I need my reading glasses at my old age.

Of course, Forge is a work in progress and can always use improvements. Rob has given us a few ideas to work with, someone may have a creative inspiration and come up with another variant for us to consider. =D>

Yeah, the last one is great. Thank you, Rob.

I like the way that the six orbs have a high light in the middle. A nice touch. :)
