So long and thanks for the fish (code)

Postby mtgrares » 26 Jun 2009, 17:22

I just wanted to thank Dennis, Rob, zerker2000 and anybody else that I've missed that have been doing a great job with all of the programming. I've taken the leisurely backseat and let them do all of the hard work.

p.s. The subject line is taken from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

The subject scared me for a moment... I thought you meant it.

Yeah don't scare us like that plzkthxbye :D.
O forest, hold thy wand'ring son
Though fears assail the door.
O foliage, cloak thy ravaged one
In vestments cut for war.

Actually it is the title of a book that continues the Saga of THGTTG. Brilliantly funny by the way. And yeah thanks to all the innovators. It is nice that you guys take the time to do that stuff. Just as I appreciate the work of the noncoders.

It's also a line from the book/radio play/tv serial/movie. The dolphins say it on their way off earth before the Vogons show up.

I'm with Rob on this one. Glad I was wrong though.
But please, do not do that again.

And yes, you coders do an awesome job. =D>

True enough. Its been 30 odd years since I heard the radio show though so forgive me if I forgot that lol. I just remember really enjoying that book which imho is better than its predecessors.

If you want, I've got MP3's of the radio play, and video files of the tv series. The radio show came before the book, BTW.

Cool :) maybe burn em to a cd and I can borrow them when we meet? :) It will bring back memories of my early teens, listening to it with my dad and wondering what the heck they were on about. Took a few episodes before I started getting the gist.

The radio play is especially funny (got an 8 cd box here), but the TV series is quite funny too. I seem to have gathered quite a Hitchhiker's Guide collection here; the trilogy in five parts, the radio play, the tv series, the movie, the comic book, the radio play script..... Now if I could just get my hands on the real guide, a Babel Fish and a Pan Galactic Garggle Blaster, I'd be in heaven
