Forge Beta: 02-07-2014 ver 1.5.12

Release Notes

- Image View (i.e. Card View / Pile View) for View Deck dialog, Deck Editors, Quest Spell Shop, and Draft Screen -

The "List View" combo box that had no other options has been replaced with two buttons, one for "List View" and one for the new "Image View"
In Image View, each card in the pool or deck has its card image displayed, with multiple copies of the same card each having its own image displayed.
Card images support the same hover, selection, right-click and double-click behavior as rows in list view
Card images can be arranged in groups and/or piles based on different configurable criteria, with groups being collapsible if you click on their header.
You can use Ctrl+MouseWheel to zoom in to maximum card width of 300px or out to a minimum card width of 50px.


- Loading decks with unsupported cards was causing Forge to crash -
Forge will no longer crash when there are decks with unsupported cards. These cards will appear in decks and games player starts as a dummy without cost, types, abilities, but with explanation in card's text. The unsupported cards will be listed in the console window as Forge is loading. Unfortunately, it is currently impossible to pinpoint which decks exactly include these unsupported cards in order to list them. However, depending on your operating system, you should be able to either use your operating system utilities or third party software to make a search inside deck files for the offending card name, locate the problematic decks and either update or remove them.


- Deck Conformance fix -
Toggling off Deck Conformance in Preferences now properly allows adding more than 4 cards to deck in editor


- Commander 2013 cards -
Forge now includes many of the new Commander 2013 cards. It may take a few days/weeks before these new card pictures become available for downloading via the "Download LQ Card Pictures" button. The LQ set pictures tend to take a few more weeks/months to process before they become available for downloading via the "Download LQ Set Pictures" button. Please be patient. The Forge devs are not involved in maintaining the servers that house these pictures.


- New Born of the Gods cards -
Forge now includes many of the new Born of the Gods cards. It may take a few days/weeks before these new card pictures become available for downloading via the "Download LQ Card Pictures" button. The LQ set pictures tend to take a few more weeks/months to process before they become available for downloading via the "Download LQ Set Pictures" button. Please be patient. The Forge devs are not involved in maintaining the servers that house these pictures.

Known Issues

Issues list | Open
There is a known issue with the timing of Leaves the Battlefield triggers and multiple permanents Leaving the Battlefield. As an example, when Blood Artist died at the same time as a lot of other creatures due to a Wrath of God, the Blood Artist should trigger for every creature but does not do so.

Several people have noticed that the cards displayed on the battlefield will fail to be displayed when the number of cards on the battlefield increases. Maximizing the human panel can help to re-display the cards.

Some time was spent turning the static ETB triggers into the proper ETB replacement effects they should be, mainly to interact correctly with each other. This work is not yet finished. As a result there is currently some inconsistencies with "Enters the battlefield with counters" (Not incredibly noticeable).

A recent contribution to the code base should fix some of the bugs that people noticed with cloning type abilities. At this time there is one remaining issue that we hope will be addressed in the near future:
Copies of cards that setup Zone Change triggers via addComesIntoPlayCommand and addLeavesPlayCommand will not function correctly.

The Forge archive includes a readme.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.

The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.

Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.

I can't open Forge 1.5.11 and 1.5.12, they stop at "Loading decks", no message error. Forge 1.5.10 runs normally. What is happening? :(

Thanks for the new version.
However, i still have this weird bug where i get asked to pay {0} whenever i block a creature.

Looks like Lightning Volley has wrong cost set:

A:SP$ AnimateAll | Cost$ 2 U | ValidCards$ Creature.YouCtrl | Abilities$ LVAbs | SpellDescription$ Until end of turn, creatures you control gain "{T}: This creature deals 1 damage to target creature or player."

BTW, might I ask what's the correct image name for the Gold token?

Are you sure you're running 1.5.12? How many decks are you loading? Is there any chance they contain unsupported cards? An issue just like the one you're reporting was fixed in 1.5.12, but maybe we missed a case.

How many decks are you loading? Is there any chance they contain unsupported cards? I know that issue was supposed to be fixed now in 1.5.12, but maybe we missed a case.
~8700 .dck files, from Forge Decks topics. I think my decks are ok, because Forge 1.5.10 works fine.

I had his problem as well. I had put on the deck folder like 1k different decks. Just remove some. Or all. Select the ones you like. Open them on the notepad and copy the card names and import on the deck builder. Worked for me :D

I got two triggers of Mistbind Clique after I championed a Faerie with a second one. Is it possible they trigger on any Mistbind Clique, not just themselves?

Hmm looks like the Championed trigger code is just incorrect. It doesn't have any checks about the host card. Only about what card is being championed. I haven't tested it, but I'd imagine if you have a Mistbind Clique in play, and you Champion any Faerie (with any appropriate card) each Mistbind Clique would trigger.

Odd that it wasn't reported or caught last version then. Though I suppose it makes sense if other developers are like me, never blocking and using the "Set Life" Dev tool to stay alive while doing testing. :)

Max, was this caused during your refactoring perhaps? Or could something I did have caused this and it just wasn't caught until now? I can investigate but since this doesn't sound like gui code I don't want to step on your toes.
