Will Forge ever be a proper Mac OS X application again?

No slight intended, just wondering because it's been a while and several versions since the last proper OS X release, and there are a lot of issues with Macs (the #1 question in the FAQ relates to OS X issues, and two of the stickies are about Mac issues).

Would donations help? I'd be glad to contribute if it resulted in the shoring up of the OS X version of Forge and making it less messy and flawed.

We were using a bit of software that is developed elsewhere to build the Mac version. Apparently, the author may not have updated his code yet. We hope that this problem will at some point improve for the better.

Accepting monetary donations is unlikely to improve the situation and could in fact cause some issues.

I have the latest Forge beta running successfully for myself as a Mac app with Java 7 using the Oracle appbundler.jar file (with some modifications).

I'm willing to help figure out how to get that into the build process, if it's possible.

I just started using Forge myself yesterday, so I don't know much about the history of how it was packaged for Macs before. I don't have the JRE bundled with my app (since I have it installed anyway) but from what I've read it is possible to go that route.

We are now building Mac OS X compatible archives once again. Thanks to abbcdfin's efforts.

Mac OS X users should download forge-gui-1.5.14-20140307.182944-12-osx.tar.bz2 at http://cardforge.org/releases/snapshots/forge/forge-gui/1.5.14-SNAPSHOT/
