Collectible Card Game Headquarters

Nice to see all the Quest experiences of everybody! Most of the time I start with a card or a concept that I like to develop in Quest. For example develop a deck around Snapcaster Mage or Opposition. Hence I make sure I start my quest with one of these cards and some pocket money
I agree with some of you that pets feel like cheating and traveling should have a cost.

Inspired by this thread I decided to start a quest again on default settings, with no pets and travelling. Wow, that was hard work! My starting pool had Sheoldred, Whispering One Phyrexian Arena and Dark Ritual, so I decided to go Bx control. Dark Rituals are powerful and easy to get. I was able to develop my deck pretty well, with more rituals, a Hypnotic Specter for the classic first turn play with a ritual and a lot of removal. I also had luck finding my Judgement fat pack with 3 Cabal Therapy to cover opponents with non-creature-decks. Now looking for some Echoing Truths. Currently I’m 28-0

Is it an idea to launch a User poll in this thread where we survey the use of all the available features in Quest?

So, at the end of the first half of my first season's worth of games, I am at 34-47. Some of those hard decks are rather annoying. Hopefully, I'll have better luck in the second half of the "season."

Start a custom quest and select innistrad as your set (i always make sure to keep my rewards unrestricted), and set a higher number of starting rares in your quest settings, you're guaranteed a snappie!

That gave me the idea in trying a new quest, starting pool with Custom Format enabling only the Ravnica and Return to Ravnica blocks (that include the sets Ravnica: City of Guilds, Guildpact, Dissension, Return to Ravnica, Gatecrash, and Dragon's Maze)

Setting the prized card on Custom Format and enabling only the same sets as starting, and and playing only in the Ravnica world.

Should be fun for me as i'm often building decks with cards coming from those blocks.

Is it me or the booster box is overpriced? It has like 10x the price of a fat pack while only having the contents of 4 fat packs. Why would anyone get a booster box when they can get 10x fat pack(of multiple sets at that) with the same price?

It's probably a bit overpriced. I'm open to suggestions for price adjustments. I think the idea was that it's more of a convenience price, where you don't have to hunt down those extra boosters or fat packs. It's all in need of balancing, though.

I'm still playing on those 2 blocks and it's been very fun so far as it really feels balanced both in the cards i got and the cards the AI gets, i have not yet seen completely broken decks like in main world.

Making every duels an interesting one in which both side can actually win without having to get broken cards.

That said, after building a red+green 60 cards deck with my stock, i decided to go with 22 lands instead of the usual 24 , in order to get 2 Traitorous Instinct from my stock

Then went the most incredible streak of bad luck i ever had in that game.
In 2 duels that i lost due to complete mana deprivation because on those 4 rounds all i could get is 6 lands in total !

6 lands coming in a total of 4 rounds !
I simply couldn't believe that as it never happened to me before.

I had to remove 2 of my cards in order to get 2 more lands, incredible how bad luck can be harsh sometime.

And most amazing, on the following battle after adding those 2 cards and removing 2 i got too much mana and too few cards to spent them on in ...

Got a crapload of creatures in my latest quest, using Mycoloth + Cathars' Crusade.
Forge took about 10 min to process before resolving blocks, and then Dino only went to -200 for some reason, probably because I made forge tiny while it was thinking about blocks.

Agkistro, what surprises me most about that screenshot is that you have a stop set at every step. I would wear out both my spacebar and my patience if I did that. I only have stops set at AI's ET and my own M1 and M2. I set extra stops on a per-case basis (such as when I have a combat trick) and immediately remove them when I no longer need them.

I have an update on my quests and a request. My main quest record is now 48-66. I'm playing Dragons now, as the other deck was creeping up on 5000 cards with everything I was putting in it. My secondary quest, which is a collector quest, is at 16-6. That quest is also using a Dragon deck. My third quest, which is me using my Revenge of Arzakon kitchen sink deck of 10k+ cards, is 1-6.

Here's my request for everybody. I'd like to see the decks you are using in your quests. I'm seeing records with very high winning percentages, and I'm pretty sure my strategy of making big old mess decks isn't exactly contributing to a great record.

How do I copy/paste a quest deck? The "Print to HTML file" functionality is kinda broken (won't export different versions; for instance, if you have an Alpha and a Beta Island, it'll only export the Alpha.)

Regardless, I usually follow the same pattern that I "perfected" in Shandalar; start with Mono-Red and gradually work in Blue as I get broken cards. The end result is some horribly broken mishmash of Power, Lightning Bolts, Control Magics and a few Manabarbs. This approach still works surprisingly well after 15 years. The only thing I changed is incorporating planeswalkers whenever I get the chance (but that is even harder than finding pieces of Power).

As for deck size, unless I am playing with a "must be Vintage legal" stipulation, I use this simple algorithm:

1. If your deck is exactly 40 cards, skip ahead to step 4.
2. Cut the worst card from your deck.
3. Go back to step 1.
4. You're done!

You can click the "Save As" button in the quest mode deck editor to save a .dck file in the location of your choosing, then open that file in a text editor and copy/paste.

I generally don't keep decks around once I've played them for a while, so I don't have the ones I used to get this far. Currently 402-75 on this quest.

This Eldrazi deck is very reliable and I only really lose if I'm playing against very hard control or I don't get enough mana. It's not a super fun deck to play after a little while as it's incredibly repetitive. Since every deck runs removal of some kind, Emrakul is the only one that really sees any play due to its protection vs. colored spells.

It's centered around blinking things with Venser and because it's me, there's some token generation splashed in (that's also usable with Venser thanks to Followed Footsteps). It's still a bit of a work in progress and could use some tweaking. I'm also just getting into the habit of adding sideboards to everything, so that's why there isn't much of one yet.
