Go to the cache directory and stick the image folders under "pics".tonetisd wrote:Alright, I have it working on my Nexus7. However I can't manage to see the pictures...
-my "/res/cardsfolder/" contains a folder for each alphabet letter which contain a *.txt file for each card.
-Also tried putting a folder named /pics inside /res with the pictures downloaded from "all pictures 06-28" file...but with no luck. any other suggestion?

Android 4.1.1 galaxy s 3. Followed directions as posted by drdrv. Unzipped assets into sdcard/Forge. Trying to install apk from my downloads. I've side loaded a whole bunch of other apps so that shouldn't be the issue. I'll see if it's an issue with needing extra free space later this eek.KrazyTheFox wrote:API Level 8 should be 2.3.3.friarsol wrote:When I try to install on my Galaxy S3, I just get an "Application not installed" error message, which looks to be the same as this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4226 ... on-android but I don't have any existing apk, or anything of the like.
What Android version is the app targeting?
I can't seem to replicate this at all on my end. Both my phone and the emulator install the app okay. If I could get more info about your phone and what you've done already, it'd help. Just the exact OS version you're running should narrow it down a lot.

Nope, I copied a folder named pics (with the pictures inside) almost anywhere one can imagine on the table with no luck.KrazyTheFox wrote:Go to the cache directory and stick the image folders under "pics".tonetisd wrote:Alright, I have it working on my Nexus7. Forge\cache\pics\ contains card images.
Does that clear things up?

Alright, I just redownloaded the apk on a different computer, pushed it to my phone and it's still not installing. 750 MB free, so I don't think that should be a problem.

Forge\res\cardsfolder\ contains card text files.
Forge\cache\pics\ contains card images.
Does that clear things up?[/quote]
It does! thanks! for some reason the cache folder wasn't shown on the computer. So my advise is for people to use a file explorer app (like ASTRO in my case).
However it only shows a few cards and everytime it needs to show one that it can't, a crash report appears.

I'm not sure what you mean by the cache folder not appearing on your computer. Did you create the proper folder structure in advance per my instructions in the first post?tonetisd wrote:It does! thanks! for some reason the cache folder wasn't shown on the computer. As for the issue with reading the files, how big are they? Are these HQ pics? Is there anything different between those that work and those that don't from a file perspective? It might also help if you could share one such image file with me so I can test against it.

I found another stackoverflow that sounds even more similar than the one i posted earlier:
http://stackoverflow.com/a/8208757/660847
Looking in forge-gui-android/AndroidManfiest.xml it looks like the solution I linked to is exactly what is declared (permission declared outside of application/activity). Maybe permissions on the manifest level is a newer Android version feature?
Also, I'm rooted but still on stock ROM.

@friarsol, I'll look into that later today when I have the chance unless Krazy has time before then.
I apologize to anyone who is experiencing the same issue, and I promise we'll get it figured out and resolved as soon as possible.

Ok, testing it on my Samsung Galaxy tab 2 GT-P3100, it doesn't install. I followed the instructions and my tablet says "application not installed" when I try to install the apk, no reason is provided. My Android version is 4.2.2.
