By the look of things something might have gotten corrupt in the "res" folder of the game (related to the localization resource bundle), I'd recommend reinstalling the game (and deleting the game resource folder in the process so that it's redownloaded and recreated), that should hopefully help.

Did you do anything special to make it work? Forge has access to all permissions that it asks for, so I'm not sure what more I can do.
Forge started working on my mi5 after one recent update. I only removed my custom decks

A question: isn't online working or it's just for me?
Second question: forge creates a lot of txt documents and so on. So my file manager shows 370 documents instead of my 5 documents. Can you hide them?

Online play is currently on hold, and it's not yet in the finished state (with currently no developers actively working on it), so for now it should be considered incomplete. Some people have reported various degrees of success with it, while many have not been very successful. This is a known problem and may be worked on in the future if there are developers interested in continuing the project and capable of doing so.

About the .txt documents - I'm not really sure, but the game does use a lot of .txt files for MTG edition definitions and other stuff. Not sure if you can hide them or not.

I wish online would get worked on! It would only be a dream come true!

Can someone link me to the people that have had the small degree's of success to it? I dont know where to start?

Also bug report:
Qasali Ambusher is getting cast from the AI from the graveyard for some reason. He should only be able to be cast from hand if he meets the conditions!

UPDATE: I published Forge for Android build 1.5.59.001, which is pretty much in sync with the recently released desktop Forge 1.5.58 Beta and includes a few fixes on top of that. This release brings most C16 and AER cards to Forge. As for other changes, please check the release notes in the Forge Beta thread for more information about what's new in this release.

Release notes pertaining specifically to this Android release:
- Some work went into porting the remaining features from desktop version of the game to mobile Forge. In particular, it is now possible to start a match against a particular opponent in Sealed Deck and Booster Draft modes in addition to the gauntlet mode which is still default.

- The mobile port of Forge now features an option "Battlefield Texture Filtering" which smoothes out card art on the battlefield. This can help make the graphics smoother on larger tablet screens (e.g. 12") or when connected to an external monitor. This option, however, comes with a performance penalty and may blur the card art too much on smaller screens. It is disabled by default.

- The work to enable quest draft tournaments in mobile Forge is ongoing and should not be considered complete at the moment. There is a very basic interface to visualize the brackets and current match. It should, at this moment, be possible to start and finish a Quest Draft Tournament if you enable the "Simulate AI vs. AI Matches" option in Forge preferences (set it to 1), which makes the game simulate random outcomes for AI vs. AI matches instead of playing all of them out. There is a known visual issue at this moment with the double set of "Edit Deck / Leave Tournament" buttons appearing on the deck preview screen after the draft phase is over and before the actual tournament is started (to be addressed soon, hopefully). Also, in the normal (non-Simulated) mode, QDTs are not completable because the AI vs. AI matches will either hang mobile Forge or fail to get registered correctly in the tournament results once they are over (currently for reasons unknown).

As a side note, I wish Dan wasn't so busy with things these days and he could write a better implementation for both the UI side of things (I'm no interface designer, I'll be honest) and for the underlying back-end that tracks the results of match outcomes in mobile Forge, here's hoping that eventually he'll find some time for it... I'm also quite desperate for help when it comes to making the AI vs. AI matches actually play out correctly without hanging and/or failing to register the outcome... Well, I guess I'll see what I can do with these issues in the nearest future, but we most likely need someone better than me in UI design to properly complete this project.

Ok, so I might have found a solution to the Xiaomi issue.

Forge crashes on (many) Xiaomi devices with the message that the StringBuilder.join() function in the Apache Commons lib cannot be found. Someone else had that problem here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2949 ... ethoderror
and they solved it by "telling ProGuard not to obfuscate Apache Commons lib" as evident in the thread. I notice that you are indeed using ProGuard in Android Forge. Could this be a solution?

I have a xiaomi redmi note 3 and I've done a little bit of android development in the past. Enough to compile and upload onto my device and watch the logs. I've had a go at building forge for android using Eclipse - it crashes on startup and the logcat doesn't seem to work on my redmi. In android studio I can't get the project to import and build sucessfully.

Can anyone give me basic instructions on how to setup the project into android studio or eclipse and get it to build for android? Building the PC client from works fine following the instructions here http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/Forge ... ping_Forge with minor tweaks for the latest version of eclipse.

I'm using a simple bash script to build the Android project, it uses Maven. Here it is (obviously you'd need to replace the folders to match your SDK location and stuff):

Code: Select all
export JAVA_HOME=~/Software/jdk1.7.0_79
export ANDROID_HOME=~/Software/adt-bundle-linux-x86_64-20140702/sdk && export _JAVA_OPTIONS="-Xmx2g" && mvn -U -B clean -P android-release-build,android-release-sign install -Dsign.keystore=forge.keystore -Dsign.alias=Forge -Dsign.storepass=forge72 -Dsign.keypass=forge72
I'm not sure how to properly set the project up in Eclipse, but it does work without issues and without any additional configuration in NetBeans (though the .apk is still built only from the command line using a script).

There is a special project "forge-gui-mobile-dev" that can be used to run, test and debug the mobile port of Forge on PC (works very well from NetBeans).

Hope it helps!

Hmm not sure, but can you try manually downloading the .apk and installing it from here?
