Fingers crossed... (it's loading, the cardsfolder is loading awfully slow 'cause it's unpacked, I think...)

Yeah, the cardsfolder directory is unpacked. That's my bad. The next release will have the cardsfolder directory properly zipped.

Ok, progress update: it got to "Loading cards from folders 96%, ETA00:00:01" and I think it hung afterwards - it's been like that for about five minutes and it's not progressing in any way (not showing any errors either though).

@Agetion - to clarify, the Forge .apk should be installed as a normal app, not on the SD card. It's just resource files, pics, and user data that are put on the SD card in the Forge folder.

As for it being stuck at 96%, I'm not sure what could be going wrong there. Hopefully the next release with cardsfolder zipped will fix that for you if you don't figure it out before then.

Yes, I installed the .apk as a normal app, no difference there. Not sure why it's getting stuck on 96%, I tried rebooting the device and trying again and it still got stuck on 96%. Will try packing the folder right now and will try launching Forge with the folder packed. Will keep you posted.

Ok, the zipped cardsfolder doesn't help to solve the issue, it still gets stuck on 96% :\
Is there any logging that I can check out to see if I can pinpoint what is making it fail? (there is no visual error indication so I can't provide any feedback beyond what I have already said...)

P.S. Tried checking data/Forge.log, it's pretty much empty except the line that says it's running on a CPU with 2 cores. No exception indication.

Can you maybe try deleting the res folder completely and copying over one from a desktop install of Forge you have that runs fine? That way we can rule out a corrupted file.

Ok, tried several things and still no go:
1) Tried copying over the res folder from the desktop version (deleted the previous res beforehand).
2) Tried recreating the Forge folder altogether and clearing the "cache" and "data" subfolders to make Forge recreate them.

The net effect, unfortunately, is still the same (hangs upon reaching 96%, no visual error, no error in the log file).

P.S. I tried Forge on another Android device that I have, Google Nexus 7, and it worked fine there. Not sure why it hangs consistently on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. :\

Do you have LogCat avaiable on Eclipse for Android development? If you do, you could try connecting your phone to your computer and monitoring what's going on in the LogCat window.

If you have the android development tools installed, you can just run "adb logcat" from the command line with your device connected (with USB debugging on) to do the same thing.

I got it to work on my Galaxy s5 after renaming the folder to rez from assets. Is there a site where I can download all the cards pics because it's taking very long to transfer from my computer to phone. Also how do I import my custom decks? I transferred them over but there not showing up.

The next release (hopefully tonight) will provide a GUI downloader for card pics the same as the desktop version, unless you're wanting HQ pics. Also, if you want to save transfer time, I'd recommend zipping up all the pics on your computer, copying the zip file to your phone, then unzipping them on your phone in Forge/cache/pics.

As for the decks not showing up, did you copy them to Forge/data/decks/constructed?

So if I click on the settings button I was able to change to journey theme. However when I select constructed it just freezes.

On my touchpad, it gets to 99% and I can't get ay farther but I think this has to do with the fact the Forge can't see my RES files. I don't have a sdcard for either device so the option to change the location would be amazing!

(probably a lot of work my apologies)

Does that clear things up?
It does! thanks! for some reason the cache folder wasn't shown on the computer. So my advise is for people to use a file explorer app (like ASTRO in my case).

However it only shows a few cards and everytime it needs to show one that it can't, a crash report appears.

Operating System: Linux 3.4.0-gac9222c armv71
Java Version: 0The Android Project
EDT>Could not read image file /storage/emulated/0/Forge/cache/pics/cards/Death's Approach.full.jpg
com.badlogic.gdx.utils.GdxRuntimeException: Couldn't load file: /storage/emulated/0/Forge/cache/pics/cards/Death's Approach.full.jpg
I'm not sure what you mean by the cache folder not appearing on your computer. Did you create the proper folder structure in advance per my instructions in the first post?

As for the issue with reading the files, how big are they? Are these HQ pics? Is there anything different between those that work and those that don't from a file perspective? It might also help if you could share one such image file with me so I can test against it.
Regarding to the cache folder mistery, I think it has something to do with the "Android transfer data App" which opens a screen on your PC showing the folders on your tablet, but apparently does not show "all" the folders. I just leave it here for future readers having similar issues. That's a problem solved now.

I use the pics that got downloaded from the Forge software for mac users version 1.5.17-r25620 by clicking on: Content Downloaders/Download LQ Card Pictures. Note: I found the folder on my computer by going to: Preferences/Open Content Directory (and from there I copied the images to the tablet's corresponding folder: sdcard0/Forge/cache/pics/cards)

How can I send you one of this files? forests and mountains for example don't show up and make it crash. (islands are good, and also swamps...)

Okay, I got this working on my Nexus 10. I spent a lot of time doublechecking the file structure but what actually solved it was switching my tablet to portrait view. After that forge loaded perfectly (although my high-res card images are not showing, that's the next project). If I set the tablet back to landscape, forge just goes to black screen after opening.

Rosieodonell wrote:So if I click on the settings button I was able to change to journey theme. However when I select constructed it just freezes.
I had this problem too, and was able to fix it: the default theme folder includes several files which the others do not - the image with the avatar tiles etc. I got firebloom theme to work by copying these additional files over. Presumably they aren't there since the app is supposed to fall back to the defaults, but that seems to not be working.
