I submitted this change along with the color-biased starting pool option a week ago or so (as you probably know already if you follow the SVN builds), and it will be in the next beta.

A couple of points:
- If you use this startup option, it currently 'only' randomizes the colors, i.e., bypasses all filters that have been placed in the game to make the Quest starting pool colors balanced. It does not bypass the card rarity check - that would have been too unbalancing. And cheesy.
- Starting a couple of Quests with 'random' pools, I would say that the color distribution seems to be fairly even anyway. This is, I guess, because most Magic sets (with a few exceptions) were designed to contain a more or less equal amount of cards of each color, i.e., the whole pool where your starting cards are picked from is, by design, pretty much balanced to start with. Of course you could occasionally end up with a surprisingly unbalanced starting pool, but - in the long run - things tend to even out, simply due to the amount of starting cards you receive.

Cavern of Souls

This card is a little annoying when I'm using a single tribe and it forces me to go searching for that tribe.

If I use this in an all sliver or goblin deck then when I play this card the dialog box should open with that creature type already selected saving me valuable time.

Even with multiple creature types in a single deck, if one of them out numbers the others then that type should be highlighted.

Can you guys add this?

Can't you just start typing in that dialog box? That's what I do when I have to name a specific card for something like Pithing Needle.

that's what I do now.

it's extremely annoying and time consuming and breaks the rhythm of the game.

there's a number of cards that request creature types like this and since I use a single tribe for quite a large number of decks this gets old real quick.

another example is: Adaptive Automaton

wouldn't it be a simple matter to have slivers etc... be the highlighted creature type so I can just hit the space bar?

it would really improve the flow of the game imo.

I wanna suggest the creation of a sanctioned standard world for the quest mode. I think it would be great to have it. For the duels it could use random generated decks (dont know if it is possible); also intro, event and other official released decks and the latest championship decks.
Or/and it could be created a quest world that can be customized. It could gather the duel decks from a pre-defined folder (applying random quest images to them) so users would be able to select the decks they wanna play against by placing the deck files inside that folder. That way if people wanna play a standard, modern, legacy or any sanctioned format world they could just adjust the decks in that folder. This world could also use a challenge sub-folder that may contain the challenge decks. So people could place in it decks like Pro Tour and/or SCG event top 10 decks or any other well planned and/or annoying to play against deck.

I hope you appreciate the suggestions. Please let me know what you guys think of it.

I take the opportunity to thank everyone that have in anyway helped in developing Forge. It is the greatest card game program I played!! I really appreciate your effort in providing such a excellent gaming experience and the kindness of making it available for all. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! Greetings from Brazil!!!

Is there any chance of normal Free-For-All multiplayer? Y'know, like Planechase, but without the planes, or like Commander without a commander and starting at 20 life...

It is rather absurd that more complicated formats are implemented, while the simplest possible example of multiplayer lies unimplemented and forgotten.

It should be rather trivial to code given that Planechase and Commander are already implemented...

First, thanks sooo much for Forge, an awesome program!!!

Any chance to put all text in Forge into an xml or something so it could be localized?

I'd love to translate it into Swedish. :)

Would it be possible to mix the multiplayer variants?
for examples:
Commander and Planeschase in one game

Two headed giant variant would be great. Also a pauper variant.

Is there a project to add variants?
I would love Momir Vig or the new Hydra Challenge.

Better options for auto-play. In Commander, for example, once you're dead, the game starts moving at breakneck speed which makes it impossible to follow.

Following options would be useful:

1. Step - you'd have to manually move the game forward, just like in single-player.
2. Timed - you could enter how long the game should wait after each action before moving on.
3. Pause - a hotkey that would allow you to pause the auto-play at any moment (and change the settings, look at the log etc.)

I mostly use Forge to play Sealed or Draft against the computer.

One thing I would like to have is a tournament structure where you follow rounds of Swiss (like most real tournaments). I.E. you get three points for a win or zero for a loss and you get opponents depending on the points you have. I'm not sure if a computer can do the sorting, though. The computer would have to simulate the games not played by the player. Six or seven rounds sounds right to me.

do you guys think it's possible to make additional zones (such as Graveyard / Flashback) not losing focus of battlefield? like in MODO, where you can see your graveyard (it also updates automatically) AND still play normally

I have a plan to improve the usability and visuals of the zones, in addition to other game screen UI improvements. Stay tuned. :D
