I placed Hobble on Hellkite Overlord, and you can clearly see in screenshot that it says "can't block". I attacked with my green creature I had on the table, then I saw that AI declared it as blocker anyway... no arrow was drawn in the GUI yet the green shield came up. Next thing I know my attacker is dead... :o
Yep, looks real to me. I just fixed this one, looks like the card script for Hobble is missing a period for the "can't block" Keyword. Notice how the "can't attack."
Yes it doesn't have a period because it's conditional. All Hobble 'd creatures can't attack, but only black ones can't block. I guess it's to make it differ a bit from Pacifism or Crystallization, drawing a card instead =)

Or did you mean the period when Forge shows the live effect?

Happy Xmast to everyone and sorry for my english. I got a problem with my forge.
YI just put some decks in, everything seems to work ok until it restart. Now Forge blocks starting when is looking for decks and never starts. I don´t know how to solve it. I tried to unistall and install it again from start, but it didn´t work; Forge blocks in the same window again and again.
I don´t know how to look for the decks directory (i can´t found them) to trie to delete the or somthing.
I´m blocked.
Any solution?.
Thanks and sorry if this in the wrong section.

Char-Rumbler is displayed as 0/3 instead of -1/3.

Hi,

Forge decks are usually located in: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Forge\decks

Within the decks subdirectory there are two more, constructed and commander

I guess I am unclear as to what you mean when you write that Forge "blocks." Do you mean that it hangs or takes a long time to load? Do you mean that Windows blocks YOU from running the program? Is Forge being blocked by an antivirus tool? If you could be a bit more specific (clear) that would really help. :)

Depending on the amount of decks you have in your decks folders, Forge can take a few moments to start. I am uploading decks but I have also downloaded over 12,000. (Obviously the decks I am uploading here I have also added to my personal Forge deck inventory.

May I ask if you are installing decks from here? If so, I doubt it is the problem with the decks themselves as they are .dck files (txt files).

In Windows, do you have show hidden files and folders checked? If you don't then that may be why you can't find the decks. Do you have the latest build of Forge installed?

Lastly, you wrote that you "put some decks in." Do you mean that you used the Import function on the deckbuilder or do you mean that you plopped some decks into the main Forge directory? If you are using the Import function and pasting in decklists, remember to SAVE the deck as opposed to SAVE AS when you have the deck imported. When you choose SAVE (the first blue icon) Forge creates a deck that is "Forgeable."

I'll tell you what, I'll import a few decks and see if I can reproduce this bug. The latest build I have is December 12 I believe from KrazyTheFox's site.

I'll edit this post and let you know if this happened to me, but, I don't recall it ever happening. I realize that English isn't your first language, so just do the best you can with providing a bit more information, okay? :)

Don't worry, someone else or I will get you up and running. :)

And Merry Christmas to you as well!!

EDIT: Okay, I loaded Forge, and because I have 12,473 decks, it took a minute an a half to load. I imported a new deck, saved it, then exited Forge. Then I restarted Forge and it loaded in roughly ten seconds. All other things being equal, i.e, Windows and/or your antivirus isn't blocking you, I am guessing you are merely experiencing a little waiting time while your decks load and if the decks aren't stored in the proper directory then Forge isn't finding them. Make sure you can see your decks by looking in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Forge\decks

I know this sounds silly, but, do a complete shut down and restart of your system. Perhaps you were running some other applications before Forge and you are simply out of memory or some system weirdness - assuming of course you are using Windows. You did say you uninstalled then reinstalled. I have found through the years that sometimes I have to restart my system after doing that. If you are on a Mac, then someone else will have to offer some suggestions.

Is your Java up to date? Please let me know here okay so that others can offer suggestions that didn't occur to me. Forge is a GREAT program and you'll be tapping like a mad sorcerer in no time. :)

Best,
Vlad

First of all, thanks to you.
Ok, I have the latest Forge, The latest java, and running Windows 8.
The problem was that I put some decks (Deckbox... yes, from here, but i can´t be sure if that was exactly the problem) in the folder, started Forge, imported them (everything seems ok) and restarted it again. It hangs reading decks.
But, thanks to you, I found the decks folder, and deleting all them Forge works again.
It´s a pitty miss all decks but I love the work made with Forge and prefer to spend some time put in decks again than forget Forge
And thank you very very very much. Seriously. :D

You're welcome and it MAY be that the way I named the Deckbox decks with a +DB in front may interfere with some code in Forge. They work for me and no one has reported any issues. I think that from now on I'll use just a DB prefix instead of a +DB prefix.

So thank you for alerting me to this possible problem.
Actually, if you want to input decks on your Forge from Deckbox - there are close to 200,000 so I'll NEVER be able to get them all in I can tell you how to easily import one deck at a time. It takes maybe a minute or less just to import them into Forge and a little longer to get them ready to be submitted here but don't worry about that part.

Okay:

1. Go to http://deckbox.org/decks/mtg
2. Click on the name of a deck that interests you and you will see a listing in an HTML table
3. At the top right of the page mouse over the word VIEW and select text card list
4. Highlight the list, copy it
5. In Forge, click Import on the Deck Editor
6. A window will pop up. Paste the deck into that window. On the right side you'll see the list of cards. If they are show up in green text that means that Forge recognizes all of the cards so click Import Deck
7. Name the deck whatever you want and save it. :)

Best,
Vlad

I'm still not sure why they would have interfered however. They work perfectly for me and a few of them have beat me badly . Again it could be the + character. I'll have to ask one of the devs but in the meantime, I'll just post them as DB deckname

Storm count in Forge

Hi,

I found a Problem with the implementation of Storm in the current Client and I'm pretty sure in the older versions as well.

If I start a really long storm chain let's say with some Moxen and cast Hurkyl's Recall and recast the Moxen they aren't counted towards my Storm count beyond the first time I casted them in that turn. The same goes for every other spell I might cast after a reshuffle effect like Timetwister and so on.

It's really annoying to kill an enemy with 400 life when your Storm count stops at like 30 while you manually counted to 70+ ... ;)

Thanks,
Markus

Birthing Pod has a bug. It seems to assume that all tokens have a CMC of 0, even if they are copies of other creatures. When you put a token that is a copy of a creature onto the battlefield (such as with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker or Feldon of the Third Path), then use Birthing Pod to sacrifice the token, you are only able to search for creatures with a CMC of 1. Birthing Pod should enable you to search for a creature with CMC equal to 1 plus the CMC of the cloned creature.

. Krosan Groundshaker's activated ability doesn't work. When you click on it, nothing happens.

Is there a legal Beast that you can target?

There always is a legal target since Krosan Groundshaker could target itself. And there also was no Linvala or something like that on the battlefield.

No. I couldn't even activate its ability in the following situation.

Usually, when you try to activate an ability and something prevents you from doing so (or if the creature doesn't have an activated ability), you get a red flashing in the prompt screen. But when I click on Krosan Groundshaker, the red flashing doesn't even appear.

That's not true, it could have shroud.

Okay, true. Then there could be no legal targets.

Sure, there may be several scenarios when activating its ability is not possible. But it seems that it's never possible to activate its ability.

As seen in the picture which I've posted above, the only permanents on the battlefield except for Krosan Groundshaker were lands. No Linvala, no shroud, no equipment, no protection etc. In that scenario Krosan Groundshaker itself is a legal target for its ability. But it still didn't work. Even with other legal targets on the battlefield besides it, clicking on the Krosan Groundshaker doesn't do anything.
