Hi all,

I've only just begun getting into Forge and played about 9 duels in my medium quest. I've had the fortune of already getting a Mox Sapphire, and I'm constantly wondering if i should sell it for 120,000 game credits just to be able to buy some other stuff =). Anyway...

I started a match against the Threshold deck, and I managed to get a lot of early damage in before he achieved threshold. I had a nice land draw, and Staff of Domination on the field to combo with Ajani's Pridemate in order to gain life and give him some +1/+1 counters. Meanwhile the opp is bringing out these heavily pumped creatures -- two 7/7, a 5/5, a few 3/3, and a sorcery gave him four 2/2 beast tokens. He also had some card that made his creatures have trample, so it was a bit scary. Luckily I got Wall of Reverence, and kept pointing to Ajani's Pridemate to gain extra life at end of turn, as well as counters. I came across Armadillo Cloak, which gave my creature trample to scare him into not attacking. We were at a bit of a standstill, so I used it to gain a ton of life and counters by tapping and untapping Staff of Domination. I then brought in Rakeclaw Gargantuan, and used his first strike threat to finally attack with a huuuuuge Ajani's Pridemate. This cleared out like 90% of his creatures.

Screenshot shows me right after my attack, and about to get 150 life at end of turn. Fun stuff.

I had a tough situation a few quest duels later against a vigilance deck, where the opp brought out Radiant, Archangel amidst a team of flyers and Meekstone to scare me from attacking. I launched the same plan, passively pumping up Ajani's Pridemate while taking heavy damage from a ~10/10 flyer as well as an unblockable 2/2 horsemanship creature. Eventually my life gain at end of turn was higher than the damage, and I was feeling relieved.

I realized that I did not damage the opp at all, so I thought I'd have some fun with this, especially once I finally got my Staff of Domination out. Opp did have some tricks up his sleeve (tap all nonwhite creatures, then destroy all tapped creatures), but luckily most of my useful creatures were white. Screenshot shows me not really caring about playing my cards anymore, and about to attack with the 100/101 Ajani's Pridemate, now with trample =). After winning this, I got an achievement for having 160 life more than what I started with as well as about 200 credits just for the life total difference.
