How can I find out which 21 cards these are?

I really don't want to check every entry in the deck builder if there is an image or not.
There must be an easier way (I hope). But how?
Hi Phoenix,

If you are using the Content Downloader IN Forge, indeed that will be the only message you get. What I do is use both the in Forge updater PLUS the external updater being discussed in this thread because I am OCD about images.

Perhaps you might find the patch release posts helpful? They usually list all of the implemented cards and for the most part, the cards missing in Forge are mostly "for ante" cards. Also, the deckbuilder has a nice search function so you could just type the name of the card you are seeking. If you get no results, then the card is not coded for Forge although again, that is VERY rare. I THINK there are only 144 cards not coded and that's an amazing accomplishment! If you DO see the generic sandpile(?) image, try running the updater I wrote about which can be found in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=14626

Best,
Vlad

PS: Thanks again to KrazyThe Fox for this splendid program!

Hi Vlad,

thanks for your detailled answer. I'll see what I can find out regarding my problem.
But wouldn't it be the easiest way to write a log-file for the content downloader where Forge writes an entry for every "pic skipped"?

Hi Phoenix,

As I am not a developer I wouldn't know if that could be done or not. Intuitively I would say it could be, but, that is just conjecture on my part. I do know that these folks are working hard for a virtually complete, virtually every card ever printed Forge. With each new release I see more cards also coded from the ancient days of MTG. Considering the tight integration of Forge's features like not having to leave the application to download images, a recently introduced mechanism to import net decks, and the aforementioned HQ pic down loader, Forge is becoming a virtual encyclopedia and playground of all things MTG.

In comparison, the devs of Manalink face different challenges and I must give them kudos for their work as well. They work in an environment that is pretty much hard coded from the original MicroProse game and even within those restrictions, they have done superb work as well.

Anyhow, I am going off on a tangent. A log file would be cool but, at least with the information that friarsol offers with each new Beta, we can easily consult his posts and see what cards are missing. He breaks down the count by set and block and I've found it to be most helpful.

If I may ask, are you creating your own decks in Forge or importing decks from elsewhere? If the latter is the case, the Deck Editor will tell you if a card is recognized or not and if it is, you can easily hover over each pic and see whether the art or the sandpile is there.

There is a wishlist for Forge and perhaps you might want to post your idea there! :)

Best,
Vlad

There's a link to the Dragon's of Tarkir LQ images posted in the HQimages section of the forum. I attempted to quote the post, so I could share it here, but couldn't because I'm too new. Anyway, they're not yet implemented in the just yet, but I just thought it'd be good to let people know that we've got them.

As always, if you spot any spelling errors or anything else that needs correcting, please post it in this thread so I can fix them.
