Optimal deck lists for AI to spar with
by opeless » 07 Jul 2015, 15:08
I love using Forge primarily for testing decks that I'm considering buying into, and enjoy the challenge of trying to refine my play sequencing against the AI's decks when practicing. I'm not here to criticise the AI, but we know it struggles with some trickier decks, combo especially.
Does anyone have a set of deck lists that they use as a gauntlet for Modern/Legacy or Standard that they feel the AI plays with reasonably well?

The AI is competent with most Standard decks that play on-curve with some spells thrown in (ie. Mono-Red, Abzan Aggro, etc.). Note that the AI is incapable of using a number of staples like Dromoka's Command and Dig Through Time so lesser powered substitutes like Erase/Suspension Field and Jace's Ingenuity are required.
For the eternal formats, it is pretty much impossible to have a remotely competent AI due to the sheer number of interactions so it is pointless to test against them except maybe for goldfishing.
