Damage Assignment Order

Is there a way of determining the Damage Assignment Order that the AI assigns to my blocking creatures during the Combat Damage Step? I can't seem to find it.

This can be relevant if I want to apply a damage prevention spell like Healing Salve or a pump spell like Giant Growth.
