[REQUEST] java.io.EOFException: Unexpected end of ZLIB
by friarsol » 10 Aug 2016, 00:38
Does anyone have a quest file that's crashing on startup? Could you send me both the main quest and the backup quest? I'm doing some experimenting with this situation.
The error should look something like:
java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.EOFException: Unexpected end of ZLIB input stream
at forge.quest.io.QuestDataIO.loadData(QuestDataIO.java:138)
The error should look something like:
java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.EOFException: Unexpected end of ZLIB input stream
at forge.quest.io.QuestDataIO.loadData(QuestDataIO.java:138)

Hi, I have just this error. How should I send the files to you. Do you have an email to send it to or I can zip them and upload it and send you the link?

I believe You should be able to upload it here as a zip. The specific files I'm looking for live (roughly) here for Windows users:
C:\Users\<Sachieiel>\AppData\Roaming\Forge\quest\saves
I'm looking for the .dat that's not working and also it's .bak
While you are there you can rename the .bak as .dat to fix Forge from not loading.

Ok, I've attached the saves.
Switching to the .bak file has fixed my client, so thank you.

Hello. I just downloaded version 1.5.56-r-1, and it crashes as soon as "Loading quest" comes up, with the following popup appearing (see attached). I am using a Mac, as the report shows. Please let me know if (and how) I need to submit any additional information, and of course, I would appreciate any suggestions you may have to correct this issue. Thank you.

I have the exact same problem, and I can't, for the life of me, find the directory where those quest saves are stored. They are definitely not in the Application Support folder (there's apparently nothing related to Forge there), and yet a fresh Forge download will always crash when loading Quests. (I'm on a Mac)
I've even tried moving Rayne's saves (uploaded above) into my /quests folder to no avail.
Does anyone have an idea of what to do? Thank you very much in advance!

I don't have a mac, but supposedly it's here:
OSX: <your home directory>/Library/Caches/Forge/
which might be a hidden directory?

Does anyone know what the behavior for this issue is for Android?

The issue that I've been dealing with is that the game will occasionally freeze right at the beginning, and I have to delete my quest save and rename the backup file to recover. It tends to be extremely random in nature.

No luck, not even hidden. Is there any way to start Forge without loading the quests? Or at least tell it to look somewhere else for the files... D:friarsol wrote:I don't have a mac, but supposedly it's here:

It has happened again. The log file does not have the error. Files are in the attached zip.
