MTGForge 11/25 (unofficial BETA) version

Postby DennisBergkamp » 25 Nov 2009, 20:20

Latest version... it might have some new bugs, since it has so much new stuff. But then again, it has a lot of bug fixes too.
2331 cards total.

Features/Fixes:

- Fixed Sky Swallower (shouldn't move the manapool anymore).
- Elvish Fury and Capsize's buyback (go back to hand) abilities shouldn't happen if the spell is countered in the case of illegal target.
- Fixed Goblin War Paint manacost, fixed Archon of Justice AI issue.
- Fixed some issues with Planeswalker's abilities.
- Fixed Ashes to Ashes (although I think you can still target the same creature twice).
- Fixed some issues with Archon of Justice.
- Readded Magus of the Library (which somehow disappeared).
- Wojek Embermage's Radiance ability shouldn't damage creatures with protection from it anymore, and it should also correctly deal damage when multicolored creatures are involved.
- Memnarch "gain control of target artifact" ability shouldn't trigger leaves play effects anymore.
- Added "This creature can't be blocked except by creatures with flying" keyword.
- Added "This creature can't attack unless defending player controls an Island" and "When you control no Islands, sacrifice this creature" keywords.
- Fixed Loxodon Hierarch.
- Fixed Karakas AI targeting code.
- Removed Corrupt from CardFactory_Creatures and readded it into CardFactory.
- Duress, Ostracize, Distress and Thoughtseize will now first reveal the entire hand, then reveal the narrowed down options to discard.
- Fixed Rebel/Merc fetch, can only get permanents now.
- Added Vasiliy's deck download option (type in a URL from http://magic.tcgplayer.com and a deck will be downloaded, unsupported cards will not be added), pretty cool, I never thought of this.
- Enchant creature Auras will get destroyed if the permanent which they enchanted ceases to be a creature (eg. Mishra's Factory).
- Fixed Mishra's Factory ability text.
- Removed Legendary type of all planeswalkers, and added in code to destroy planeswalkers if there are multiple of the same subtype in play.
- Fixed Sluggishness.
- Fixed an issue with Planeswalkers where their abilities can be used when there are other abilities on the stack (even during AIs turn).
- Fixed Strangling Soot AI bug.
- Chris fixed a bunch of cards in cards.txt.
- Zerker added some input stacking support (eg. Mudbutton Torchrunner + Goblin Grenade should work for 5 + 3 damage now).
- Zerker fixed some issues with Angel of Despair and Drekavac.

New cards:
A lot of new cards, some of the highlights: Ajani Vengeant, Time Walk, Jace Beleren, Spell Snare, Timber Protector, Qasali Pridemage, Meekstone, Sword of the Meek, Thopter Foundry, Tinker, Goblin Charbelcher, Umezawa's Jitte, Vendilion Clique, Staff of Domination, Barren Glory, Kaervek's Spite, Academy Rector, Goblin Chieftain, Dwarven Pony, Zhou Yu, Chief Commander, Vodalian Knights, Merfolk Sovereign, Femeref Enchantress, Conqueror's Pledge, Seal of Removal, Seal of Fire, Seal of Cleansing and Seal of Primordium.

There are some really strong cards in there, and also some cool combos (Academy Rector + Kaervek's Spite + Barren Glory, or Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek for example).

2331 cards is insane. Umezawa's Jitte is a great card, that I'm glad I can use. Thanks to whoever coded Time Walk, I tried but I could never get it working. Thanks to Dennis, Rob, Zerker and everybody else.

There's a few cards that don't actually have links in card-pictures.txt, I just noticed. Just copy + paste them in there:

Some cool cards I forgot to mention include the edicts, I've always missed those in Forge.
Zerker added Transguild Courier, Door to Nothingness and the awesome awesome Oran-Rief, the Vastwood :)

Vassiliy's new feature is cool indeed, I just tested it using this URL:

http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=466561

It showed me this message, after successfully importing 50 out of the 60 cards:

Sorry, cards:
Kor Cartographer,
Celestial Purge,
Path to Exile,
not supported in this version of MTGForge.
Deck downloaded without these cards.
Awesome!

One down, two to go :P.

EDIT: Two down, one to go, logging off forge.

Though fears assail the door.
O foliage, cloak thy ravaged one
In vestments cut for war.

Awesome version!

I've checked the newer cards.. and many of them open up many new cards and new decks for the future. (like kicker)

The 2 new planeswalkers are just dying for decks to revolve around them now.

The strongest cards in the new batch have got to be Time Walk, Tinker and Academy Rector.

Thanks everyone =D>

Keep them coming.

Woohoo! =D> Another great update! Thanks guys. 8)
Goblin Chieftain replaces Goblin General in my gobliiins deck.
Oran-Rief, the Vastwood, now there is a card that screams for Rhys the Redeemed! I forsee a big mess with the game coming to a snail's pace due to an overload of tokens generated each turn. Then just Time Walk to victory.
Those are the most obvious uses for me, I am sure others will show up soon enough...

By the way: - Fixed Sky Swallower (shouldn't move the manapool anymore).
I never encountered that bug, did not know it was there but reading that made me laught out loud. Imagine that, playing a card that actually makes you lose your manapool! Hilarious!
You should have left it in. Then you could have reïntroduced your famous buffed Llanowar Elves as compensation.
You even could have added "unblockable" to it then as well.
](*,) = coder at work, according to a coder. It does explain some of the bugs.

A few things about the Umezawa's Jitte:

I'm trying to figure out how I am doing this, but persist creatures that have a -1/-1 counter that are taken to toughness zero with the Jitte counters don't die but instead get +1/+1 (though the card still says they have a -1/-1 counter)...and the effect is permenant. I know for sure I kept seeing this happen with the Rendclaw Trow. But I was able to kill a Kitchen Finks that had a -1/-1 counter the same way (Jitte counters).

Also on Heartseeker who was equipped with two Loxodon Warhammer, I used the Jitte to take him out of combat (it was my turn and Heartseeker was blocking) and when he came back with his -1/-1 one of the Loxodons automatically equipped him. I was able to duplicate this with other persist creatures.

Not complaining about the bugs! Just trying to help find them.

all rarities for Forge 11-25-2009

This archive contains updated rarity files for Forge 11-25. I added the missing rarity values for the new cards that were included in version 11-25. This set is not compatible with earlier versions of Forge.

This archive now contains only one set of rarity files. These files have had a rarity value assigned to all of the cards except for the basic lands, basic snow lands, and Rares three fantasy cards.

As of version 10-02 these rarity files now go inside of the res folder and are now of no use to you if you place them in the root folder. You can place a copy inside of the res folder and a second copy inside of the quest folder.

I thought the last update was pretty fantastic, but this is making me squeal with delight. At last, Time Walk! And Tinker! And even the seals I asked for!
I'm simply beside myself.

I noticed that the deck builder saves ALL decks when closed... at least that's what the file dates show.

I got fed up with the extremely basic pictures for some of the tokens, though, so I decided to put up pictures I resized from what I found on slightlymagic.
