Forge Beta Release: 09-26-2016 ver 1.5.56
16206 cards in total.

The Forge 09-26-2016 Windows and Linux archive (requires java 7):

http://www.cardforge.link/releases/forg ... 56.tar.bz2

Sorry our Mac OS specific Application is currently unavailable for this release. However, Mac users should be able to use the above archive since Mac OS is based on Unix. There just won't be a specific application. Hopefully Chris H gets better soon, and can come back to providing this extra file.

Release Notes
-------------

- Quest World Updates -
This release includes the latest quest world update from Xyx. A new world has been added, based on the Mirage block (except the Weatherlight expansion which is not a part of this storyline). Also, other quest worlds have been updated and some of them were expanded to feature new opponents and challenges. The worlds have been renamed to better represent the actual setting they are set in.
COMPATIBILITY WARNING: Due to the changes in names of worlds themselves as well as some opponent decks, this version of the game may be partially incompatible with the quest saves from the previous versions of the game. If you experience a crash related to your old quest file (e.g. as the game is loading your quest), you may have to delete that quest file manually and start a new quest. Alternatively, you may wish to finish playing the old quest using the older version of the game before upgrading.

- Booster Draft AI improvements -
This release features improvements to the drafting AI which should be noticeable in the Booster Draft mode including Quest Draft Tournaments. In particular, the AI should rank the cards better depending on the synergy of their abilities and effects (for the cards that have AI hints scripted for them). Currently these deckbuilding hints are implemented for the sets starting with Khans of Tarkir.

- Conspiracy: Take the Crown -
This release contains most of the cards from the Conspiracy: Take the Crown set.

- Kaladesh -
This release has the latest set, Kaladesh, almost fully implemented.

------------
Known Issues
------------

Images for the latest sets will be available soon.

There is a known issue with the cost reduction for cards that have color-locked X in their mana cost (e.g. Drain Life, Soul Burn). Cost reduction will not apply correctly to these cards if the amount by which the cost is reduced is greater than the amount of colorless mana in the mana cost specified on the card (e.g. 1 for Drain Life, 2 for Soul Burn). Fixing this issue likely requires rewriting the way announced color-locked X is interpreted and paid (most likely it has to be represented with colorless mana shards but still locked to the colors required by the card).

Several people have noticed that the cards displayed on the battlefield will fail to be displayed when the number of cards on the battlefield increases. Maximizing the human panel can help to re-display the cards.

Some time was spent turning the static ETB triggers into the proper ETB replacement effects they should be, mainly to interact correctly with each other. This work is not yet finished. As a result there is currently some inconsistencies with "Enters the battlefield with counters" (Not incredibly noticeable).

A recent contribution to the code base should fix some of the bugs that people noticed with cloning type abilities. At this time there is one remaining issue that we hope will be addressed in the near future:
Copies of cards that setup Zone Change triggers via addComesIntoPlayCommand and addLeavesPlayCommand will not function correctly.

----------------------------
Forge Archive Instructions
----------------------------

The Forge archive includes a readme.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.

The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.

Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.

Once the Forge archive has been decompressed you should then be able to launch Forge by using the included launcher. Launching Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file in the past caused a java heap space error. Forge's memory requirements have increased over time and the launchers increase the java heap space available to Forge. Currently you can launch Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file without a java heap space error but this is likely to change as we add in more sounds, icons, etc.

(Unfortunately, until our Release Manager who owns a Mac is back, the Mac application of Forge can not be distributed. Hopefully it'll be back sooner rather than later.)
- The Mac OS application version -
We can now package Forge as a Mac OS application. You can double click the Forge.app icon to launch the forge application on your Apple computer running Mac OS. This application will automatically increase the java heap space memory for you as it launches. This version does not require the forge.command file and it does not need to start the Terminal application as part of the start up process.

The Mac OS X app version apparently requires the Mavericks OS and is not compatible with earlier OS X versions. People with earlier OS X versions should use the Windows and Linux version and launch forge on their Mac by double clicking on the included "forge.command" file.

congrats on this new release, Kaladesh and Conspiracy 2 are awesome

- to decide whether attack or not, AI is taking into consideration Vehicles even when there is no way to activate them (either no creatures or no untapped creatures)

- AI flashed and evoked a Briarhorn targeting itself for +3/+3, effectively wasting a card

- Eliminate the Competition does nothing on resolution.
- Padeem, Consul of Innovation doesn't trigger even if I control Animation Module and several Servo tokens (AI doesn't control any artifacts). I suppose CMC is compared to all permanents, not only artifacts.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but Scythe of the Wretched's ability behaves odd.

- My attacking creature (Kessig Prowler [8/3] equipped with Scythe of the Wretched & Loxodon Warhammer) and the blocking creature (Ravenous Demon [6/6]) both died in combat. But my Scythe didn't trigger (the ability should trigger regardless of the equipped creature surviving or dying).

- My attacking creature (Kessig Prowler [8/3] equipped with Scythe of the Wretched & Loxodon Warhammer) was blocked by two creatures (Aven Envoy [0/2] and Crafty Pathmage [1/1]) and survided the combat damage. The two blocking creatures died resulting in Scythe of the Wretched to trigger two times. Scythe returned and equipped Crafty Pathmage, resulting in Kessig Prowler to die due to noted damage, resulting in Scythe to trigger again, apparently thinking Crafty Pathmage as now equipped creature dealt damage to Kessig Prowler this turn (the noted damage on Kessig Prowler shouldn't be assosiated with the returned Crafty Pathmage as it became a new object).

Edit: Sorry it was Grinning Demon and not Ravenous Demon.

It's not committed. Maybe you missed it when you posted your zip file? Ah, it looks like Hanmac "scripted" it, but didn't actually... commit it. I don't know why he did that...

Ah if you want to fix Eliminate the Competition locally here's the card script to replace..

Code: Select all
Name:Eliminate the Competition
ManaCost:4 B
Types:Sorcery
A:SP$ Destroy | Cost$ 4 B Sac<X/Creature> | TargetMin$ 0 | TargetMax$ MaxTgts | ValidTgts$ Creature | References$ X,MaxTgts | TgtPrompt$ Select target creatures | SpellDescription$ Destroy X target creatures.
# It may seem wrong to not use X in the target, but since the Targets are what defines X, it's redundant (and not supported by the code)
SVar:X:Targeted$Amount
SVar:MaxTgts:Count$Valid Creature
SVar:Picture:http://www.wizards.com/global/images/magic/general/eliminate_the_competition.jpg
Oracle:As an additional cost to cast Eliminate the Competition, sacrifice X creatures.\nDestroy X target creatures.

Protector of the Crown's mana cost are wrong. It should be {5} {W} not {2} {W}.
Nissa, Nature's Artistan's ultimate costs only 10 but it should cost 12. The text is displayed proberly.

Scapeshift + Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle

Lands that are brought into play via Scapeshift enter at the same time. When a Mountain is brought into play via Scapeshift, they see any Mountains on the battlefield plus all those entering with it for Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle's trigger. In this beta, I am only getting Valakut triggers on the sixth and subsequent Mountains even when Scapeshift is bringing in 5+ Mountains with Mountains on the field. I remember this issue being brought up in an earlier release's thread and the Scapeshift + Valakut interaction worked correctly in 1.5.55.

The game crashes after I play game 1 of a match in Quest Mode.

I've tested this in multiple worlds and with multiple decks.

The error message is as follows:

Nissa, Nature's Artistan's ultimate costs only 10 but it should cost 12. The text is displayed proberly.
Also, its power and toughness should be 2/5, not 1/1. (This part may only be happening on trunk; I've started running from there recently.)

Edit: Also, cards that check whether a player (you or an opponent) is the monarch seem to always return "true" regardless of whether that player--or, indeed, any player--is the monarch. For example, Throne Warden starts getting +1/+1 counters immediately without a monarch in play, and Queen Marchesa begins generating Assassin tokensn even if no other player becomes the monarch after she enters play.

What are your quest preferences for the Boosters in the Shop?

Using slightly odd preferences. I'm using a custom world with my own custom cube. The cards are designated by rarity and there are only two designations - rare and common. I've been able to do so in the past, but sometime between 1.5.55 and 1.5.56, it broke.

Preferences are:

Booster Pack Ratios:
Common - 14
Uncommon - 0
Rare - 1
Special Booster - 0
Max Packs - 5
Min Packs - 1
Starting Packs - 5
Common Singles - 10
Uncommon Singles - 0
Rare Singles - 1
